1. Project Officer and Learning Facilitator

Location : Ahmedabad.

Centre for Environment Education (CEE) is a national institution engaged in developing programmes and materials to increase awareness about the Environment and Sustainable Development requires a Project Officer and Learning Facilitator at Ahmedabad.

Position : Project Officer

Educational Qualifications: Post graduate preferably in Education and social sciences

Consolidated Salary : up to Rs.25000/- to Rs.35,000/- (inclusive of all) per month based on qualification and experience.

Job Profile : Candidate should be able to manage multi-task, meet deadlines of project and cope with conflicting priorities, Strong interpersonal and communication skills (face to face or telephonic or virtual) Excellent planning skills, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Appropriate writing skills, Oral and written fluency in Gujarati, Hindi and if possible English, Able to research, synthesise and summarise complex information, deal with enquiries with professionalism and initiative, communicate and work effectively with other individuals and organisations, develop and maintain information systems, both think and act independently, as well as take direction from managers.

Experience : Candidate must be having experience of managing projects, and ideally some budget management, organising meetings and events, writing briefings, reports, and articles, working in an office environment Also having a logical and systematic approach to work, problem-solving with a positive and creative attitude, enjoys working as part of a small team, willing to work flexibly within an environment that must adapt quickly to external changes, must be flexible about working hours, including travel to meetings and events.

Position : Learning Facilitator

Educational Qualification : Graduate, preferably in Education or Teaching (B.Ed./ PTC) Consolidated

Salary: Rs.15,000/- to Rs.18,000/- (inclusive of all) per month based on qualification and experience.

Job Profile :

  • Conduct small flexible groups to reinforce skills.
  •  Provide individualized instruction as needed in language, environment and math subjects (i.e. study skills, review, difficult terms, etc.)
  • Plan and teach lessons.
  • Submit lesson plans to the Project Officer · Assist in the updating of remedial folders.
  • Report to the Project officer on students’ progress, your next action plan/goals, and activities.
  • Update remedial folders with test scores and any materials that focus on particular skills.
  • Model strategies that students will learn to implement independently.
  • Monitor all students regularly with assessments.
  • Conduct / administer assessments as required in remedial plan
  • Be able to interpret and analyse scores.
  • Identify remedial students through test data and set appropriate goals for them.
  • Consult and suggest/share strategies with project officers to improve scores.

Additional Responsibilities : Support all new and on-going district initiatives (i.e. reading initiatives, assessment procedures, etc.) · Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the organisation/district. · Maintain ethical and professional behaviour and observe confidentiality of student information. · Perform all other duties as assigned by the organisation.

2. State Project Co-ordinators 

Location : Telangana (Hyderabad) and Andhra Pradesh (Vijaywada)

About the Project:

Centre for Environment Education-South, UNICEF, and Samagra Sikshana are jointly implementing ‘Strengthening of Swachch Vidyalaya Initiative’ in Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh since September 2019, which is one of the initiatives of UNICEF and MoHRD at the national level, implementing in 14 states of the country. The project aims to upgrade the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) status of government schools from one star (WASH status is poor and needs considerable improvement) and two stars (WASH status is fair, but needs improvement) to three stars and above status (Good to excellent).

Job role:

The purpose of this assignment is to implement the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools project in the respective state.

The recruited project coordinator is expected to work under the guidance of state project Director / commissioner of school education and state authorities to implement series of interventions to ensure the 1 and 2 star schools are reaching 3 star and above states. The interventions will be focusing on both hardware components and software components. Effective coordination, advocacy and technical support may be extended to the department for hardware components implementation and direct interventions may be initiated from state to the field level on software components.

Qualifications and experience requirements: 

Post Graduate in Social Sciences/Social work/Science/Environment Science with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene activities / Rural Development field.

Job description: 

Provide support to the State, District, Mandal, or Taluk Education department and line departments in implementing WASH in Schools

Work closely with the state education department and line departments, district, and mandal education department and line departments, community-level stakeholders, and School Community to ensure sufficient coverage, convergence, and capacity enhancement on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools. 60% of the work at the office to plan, implement and monitor the activities or prepare documentation related to the WASH project, 20% of the work at District and Mandal level 20% of the work at the field level.  Improve the capacity of the government key stakeholders and providing technical support in institutionalized mechanism to scale up WASH in Schools essential package (Swachh Bharath Swachh Vidhyala) is one of the major task.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Assist the focal point persons of WASH from education department in implementing the project and their assignments. Enhance their capacity from time to time and ensure quality output within timelines.

Position requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Telugu would be an essential qualification for this assignment.
  • Should be well versed with using computer and internet
  • Previous experience of working with the sector flagships (NBA/SBM & NRDWP) and allied projects (SSA, TSP & NRHM) on WASH components/disaster management programs would be considered additional and desirable qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Swachh Bharath Swachh Vidhyala, Child Rights, and Education system are desirable qualifications.
  • Positive personality, Self-motivational and counseling skills, knowledge of group dynamics.
  • Should be having own laptop, Camera and other communication facilities
  •  Experience in field level activities, capacity building programs, life skills education, training, and organizing workshops and seminars
  • Willing to frequent travel in allotted districts.
