Job Description:
CEED is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an Associate, Clean Transport with a minimum experience of 2-3 years in relevant sectors. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our initiatives related to Clean Transport, Infrastructure, Green Cities, Connectivity, and Sustainable
Mobility. This role is crucial as we look to expand our network and impact in the sustainable transport sector.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on sustainable transport policies at the regional level, analyzing the relationship between regional policies and sustainable transport, and assessing regional competitiveness.
- Gather and analyze statistical data, regional development strategies, and operational programs that support sustainable transport.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses across different transport modes, including road, rail, aviation, and marine.
- Evaluate state and central policies on sustainable mobility, public transport, and electrification, and contribute to sustainable transport planning at local, state, and national levels.
- Utilize GIS and Geoportal capabilities for comparative analysis in regional transport development.
- Coordinate with government agencies, experts, and civil society organizations to collect qualitative data and facilitate stakeholder consultations.
- Effectively communicate research findings in diverse formats tailored for stakeholders across government, private, and non-government sectors, with a focus on influencing policy and practice.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in sustainability, sustainable transport, environmental planning in the transport sector, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong understanding of the transport sector, including policy frameworks and the transition towards sustainable transport.
- Proven experience in research, data analysis, and report preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and build relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of GIS, statistical analysis, or other technical tools is desirable but not required.

2. Head- Just Transition

Job Description:
CEED is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to take on the role of Director of Just Energy Transition. This position is central to our mission of ensuring that the energy transition in Eastern India is both equitable and inclusive, particularly for communities that have historically been marginalized and disproportionately impacted by fossil fuel-based energy systems. The Head of Just Energy Transition will be a key member of
CEED’s senior management team, responsible for driving systemic change towards equitable climate goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of CEED’s Just Transition strategy for Eastern India, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Conduct comprehensive research on Just Transition issues, including the socio-economic impacts of energy transition on communities in Eastern India, with a focus on coal-dependent regions.
- Engage with government agencies, policymakers, and stakeholders to advocate for policies that support a fair and equitable energy transition.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, industry leaders, and local communities.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of Just Transition programs and initiatives, ensuring they are impactful, scalable, and sustainable.
- Develop and implement capacity-building programs to equip local communities and stakeholders with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the energy transition.
- Effectively communicate CEED’s Just Transition work through reports, policy briefs, presentations, and other mediums to influence policy and public opinion.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support Just Transition initiatives, including writing grant proposals and building relationships with donors.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Energy, Environmental studies, Economics, Statistical Analysis and technical background is an added advantage.
- Desirable Qualification in Sociology, Public policy, or a related field. A PhD is preferred.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience, with a strong focus on Just Transition, energy transition, or related fields.
- In-depth understanding of the socio-economic dynamics of energy transition, particularly in coal-dependent regions.
- Proven experience in research, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Experience in fundraising and managing donor relationships is desirable.
- Commitment to CEED’s mission and values, with a passion for environmental sustainability and social justice.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing our circular economy initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable production and consumption patterns.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on circular economy principles, practices, and trends, with a focus on their application in India.
- Analyze current policies, business models, and industry practices to identify opportunities for promoting circular economy initiatives.
- Prepare reports, policy briefs, and case studies to inform circular economy strategies.
- Assist in the development and execution of circular economy projects, including waste management, recycling, and sustainable product design.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement pilot projects that demonstrate the benefits of circular economy practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects, ensuring they meet established goals and objectives.
