Job Purpose

As Manager Operation, the role will be responsible for smoothly process of customer orders through 3PL Partner. Responsibility includes process of customer order as per customer requirement with proper Packing of consignment and dispatch of good condition of books. also collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all operations (eg. shipping, delivery) meet quality and safety standards.

This role would be responsible for order fulfilment, timely process and dispatch of order for all three verticals i.e. EDU, ELT & Academic

Principal Accountabilities

  • Operational accountability for all 3PL operations
  • Accountability for delivery of excellent OTIF levels to customers.
  • Operational accountability for return received from customers.
  • Conduct review meetings with 3PL, warehouse, distribution centre, and fulfilment teams along with delivery partner
  • Provides adequate response/information to questions/requests from in and external customers.
  • Processes internal customer complaints and provides status to customers
  • Continually review and improve warehouse and transport controls and processes and ensure that these are updated and communicated.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture through the team and 3PL’s to improve Service and Cost
  • The individual must be self-initiator to execute Operational Activity.
  • He/she needs to prepare monthly planning and forecasting of all the requirements well in advance and develop a system to keep respective departments in-line with the derived plan.
  • Should give and suggest cost control solutions to the management.
  • Keeping strong follow up with internal and external customers like payment follow ups with overseas customers and keeping cordial relationship with all.
  • Should have knowledge of any ERP related to operation management.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 7 to 10 Years of experience in relevant field.
  • Strong capability and demonstrated experience managing multiple supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract management
  • Clear demonstrated experience of driving a Continuous Improvement culture across all Warehousing and
  • Distribution activity to optimise service to the end customer and drive efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Strong experience of building team capability both in the short and long term.
  • Degree preferable or relevant experience
  • Strong Microsoft skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Excel to Intermediate / Advanced level.
  • Must have a high keen attention to detail and strong follow-up skills with the ability to proactively identify and address problems quickly and independently
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work under Pressure
  • Strong capability and demonstrated experience in manging multiple supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Must be willing to travel which will include visits at vendors and warehouse
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written to include report writing and group presentations
  • Excellent organisation skills, able to prioritise
  • A collaborative team player – concerned with the team success as well as individual performance
  • Solution orientated, decisive by nature
  • Good Listener – will challenge constructively and respond well to feedback
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability, and maturity.
  • Excellent listening, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
