Fundraising Manager (Location:India)

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising, India

Salary: INR 25 lacs pa

Role overview:

This job contributes to the British Asian Trust’s success, taking responsibility for securing funding from donors and meeting organisational and individual fundraising targets from key geographies for priority programme areas.

Location: Delhi/Mumbai/Bengaluru, India (Remote)

Job description:

Key accountabilities
Accountable for securing funding from donors and meeting organizational and individual fundraising targets

  • Drive significant funds through Institutional/ foundation/ CSR/ HNI channels from key geographies for priority programme areas to meet set targets
  • Plot new growth opportunities, consistently monitor results in order to meet growth targets
  • Manage and develop relationships with multi-lateral institutional donors, CSR teams, and major foundations with a strong emphasis on securing new sources of partnership income
  • Maintain a robust and healthy pipeline of prospective donors
  • Maintain up-to-the-minute intelligence regarding existing opportunities, supporters, relevant industries and the overall philanthropic landscape
  • Research and analysis of biographical, philanthropic, professional and financial information including giving patterns to determine prospect’s potential and propensity to give

Working as a key stakeholder in multidisciplinary internal teams and donors to develop large strategic partnerships to drive the impact and scale of our programmes

  • Work collaboratively and productively with the Fundraising & communications team, Programmes team, in Country staff and Senior Management team to create the environment for growth and agree engagement with donors and partners
  • Work collaboratively to produce better programming partnership opportunities for key donors and support knowledge management and impact measurement initiatives in order to improve our likelihood of winning new partnerships

Supporting on existing account management and new business for current funding gaps

  • Support the development of systems, processes, practices that are necessary to ensure that we deliver first class management of our partners
  • Lead and support on applications to a range of major trusts or other grant giving bodies
  • Lead and support on grant reports for restricted and unrestricted funders including statutory, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and individuals
  • Lead and support on managing relationships with existing and potential donors including face to face and written communication
  • Income generation from existing and potential donors – with a clear annual income target

Responsible for administrative tasks relating to the donor segment, including:

  • Maintaining appropriate donor records on Sales Force and writing donor letters, MoUs, payment
    receipts, meeting notes etc.  Other duties as required by the line manager commensurate with the post

Person Profile – Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record in securing in country funds i.e. CSR and institutional fundraising
  • Strong relationships within CSR and Foundations networks
  • Experience in raising funds towards child protection preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Team player and ability to work in a fast-paced process-oriented environmen
