Bhartiya Jan Utthan Parishad (BJUP) is a secular, non-political and non-profit making registered voluntary organization. The organization is working on the issue of health, Livelihood, education, child protection, WASH, women empowerment, old age care, watershed development and disability for last 39 years.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The Accountant’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Professional/experienced individuals from voluntary sector willing to work for longer period may apply for the position as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
  • Disbursement of salary.
  • Work closely with PC and other staff of the project.
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Liaise with finance staff at donor level
  • Preparation of appointment letters for new staff in consultation with PC.
  • Maintaining indent file, requisition slip, order file, quotation file, challan, cash book, ledger book, voucher file, rent and services charges file, office operating cost file, Communication (Telephone/T.A.) Bank
  • Transactions recording daily flow chart.
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain attendance register and leave record.
  • Bank Reconciliation.
  • Representing the organization at meetings, conferences & workshops.
  • Preparing of financial analysis and reports like Finance report & S.O.E.
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
  • Oversee all the M&E activities in the project

The Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of B.Com with ten (10) years of experience  / M.Com with five (5) years of experience in accounts.
  • Good command on computer and Tally
  • Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
  • Strong commitment to development sector.
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Ability to train and manage staff.

Salary: Rs.25K-35K (CTC) per month commensurate with ability and experience. Applicants should submit their curriculum vitae and cover letter with present & expected salary with one-page note.
