Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) is an independent organization initiated by the Government of India (GOI) under the Societies Registration Act. The organization facilitates civil society action in partnership with the Central and State Governments, for transforming livelihoods and lives of rural households, with emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.
BRLF fosters civil society action in partnership with the Government, for transforming the livelihoods and lives of people across India. The organization focuses on the regeneration of natural resources, increase and harvesting of water for irrigation, promotion of livelihoods, including livestock and off-farm livelihoods, and financial inclusion of women-led SHGs, to transform the lives of the rural poor.
BRLF emphasizes the creation of powerful grassroots institutions led by women, to lead interventions aimed at the poor. The organization works actively through grassroots CSOs, with communities on the ground to reduce the gap between program outlays made by the government and corporations. Program outcomes are achieved by strengthening democratic institutions at the grassroots, improving the quality of program implementation, and scaling- up successful intervention models, so that the poor, particularly tribal households in central
India, can escape poverty and deprivation.

ABOUT “Integrated Watershed Management and Sustainable Agriculture Practices in Kashipur Block, Odisha”. The project’s duration will be for one year with an initial 6-month consultancy contract and then a further 6 months extension subject to performance and continued availability of funds.
BRLF partnered with Utkal Almunia International Limited (UAIL) a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited to implement integrated watershed structures and capacity building of the tribal people in selected villages of Kashipur Block of Rayagada district under their CSR activities. The project aims to address the challenges faced by the communities in the areas of sustainable agriculture practices including water scarcity, soil erosion, low agriculture productivity and lack of awareness regarding community driven watershed programs.
The integrated watershed management aims to conserve and manage soil and water resources effectively, leading to improved soil moisture conservation, enhanced crop productivity, increased agricultural production, and higher farm income. The key assignment of the project includes capacity building of the communities in watershed programs, implementing water and soil conservation measures, promoting sustainable agriculture
practices, encouraging agroforestry and horticulture, and strengthening local institutions. The project targets two villages of Kashipur block namely, Pandkapadar and Khuguput implementing new watershed structures in this program.
1. Watershed Expert (01 Vacancy), Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation,
LOCATION: Kashipur Block, Rayagada, Odisha
JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Watershed Experts shall be responsible for the following:
Key Job Responsibilities:
i. Conducting detailed survey and location mapping for watershed programs.
ii. Prepare design, plan and estimation of various NRM/watershed structures.
iii. Provide lay out of the various NRM structures and monitor the works execution and timely completion.
iv. Supervision of civil construction work and coordination for day-to-day work with the vendors/contractors
v. Conducting village level meetings and undertaking capacity building programs to educate the tribal beneficiaries.
vi. Regular meetings and coordination with UAIL team for smooth implementation of the project.
vii. Supervise the work of CCs and CRPs (Cluster coordinator and Community resource person) and provide them with hand-holding support at community level.
viii. Plan Farm based allied activities to ensure sustainable livelihood to poorest of the poor.
ix. Budget management with weekly/monthly reporting of progress of works.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience
Full time B. Tech in Civil Engineering/ Agriculture Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
At least 3 years’ work experience for a candidate with B.Tech in Civil/ Agriculture Engineering or 4 years work experience for the candidate with Diploma in Civil Engineering. The work experience must be on rural development projects/NRM projects while working with reputed organization.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
I. Should be motivated to work in the villages, especially with deprived sections, and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills relevant to the project and guide implementation processes.
II. Ability to work in a multi-cultural/ multi-disciplinary team.
III. Ability to multi-task and work well in such a team.
IV. Willing to travel in rural areas
COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The remuneration package budgeted for this position up to INR 50,000 per month. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience, and salary history.

LANGUAGE’S

2. Cluster Coordinator (one vacancy), Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation
Location: Kashipur Block, Rayagada, Odisha
JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Cluster Coordinator shall be responsible for the following.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Ensure smooth implementation of project activities in the assigned cluster level.
(2) Conducting regular meetings and community mobilization in the assigned area
(3) Identify locations for implementing watershed programs in coordination with tribal beneficiaries in this area.
(4) Supervise the work of CRPs and provide them with hand-holding support at the village level.
(5) Ensure coordination with beneficiaries for their active involvement in the project process.
(6) Facilitating capacity building training programs in this area.
(7) Timely reporting and execution of all the activities with close coordination with the villagers.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience
Essential Skills and Competencies:
(1) Should be motivated to work in the villages, especially with deprived sections and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills relevant to the project and guide implementation processes.

COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The remuneration package budgeted for this position up to INR 25000/- per month. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience, and salary history. This is a contractual engagement for a period of six months. The engagement may be renewed/ extended based on the performance and requirements of the Organisation.
