Intern, Schools of Specialized Excellence (SSE) : Ashoka University

About SSE and the role
The University is now working to introduce its continuous focus on academic rigour, interdisciplinary pedagogy, and teaching methods to the school education ecosystem in India. Building the curriculum for the Schools of Specialized Excellence (SSE) is a step in this direction. SSE are choice-based schools for classes 9 to 12 that will allow students to specialise in their chosen field of study. By providing opportunities for enrichment and experiential learning, these schools will prepare students to excel in their chosen pathways. Four types of schools envisioned are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM); Humanities; Performing and Visual Arts and High-end 21st Century Skills. 35 out of 100 such envisioned schools have already been established across Delhi.

As a Research Intern for Humanities SSE, the candidate will aid the development of the curriculum and associated assessments & frameworks, teaching pedagogy and teacher training guides for Grade 11 and 12. The
intern will undertake high-quality research and provide subject-matter expertise to the Programme Leads in
one of the following subjects- Mathematics & Statistics.

Education and Experience

• Diploma/Graduation/Post Graduation/Doctorate in Mathematics or related domain from a recognized
  university
• Research interests in the listed subject
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and a commitment to equality and diversity
• Reporting to: Programme Lead, Ashoka- SSE
• Project Duration: 7 months (March- Sep 2024)
• Location & time commitment : Remote work; 20-24 hrs a week
• Compensation: 4000 (INR) /month and a letter of experience
