At Arpan, we believe every child matters. Every child has a right to be safe and protected from sexual abuse and heal from its ill effects. Arpan is the largest NGO in India addressing this issue with over 120 professionals providing prevention and intervention services to children and adults irrespective of their socio-economic background, gender, sexuality, caste, religion and political affiliation. Arpan is scaling up its work and reach through partnerships with government bodies, school chains and NGOs pan India.
Arpan’s key project is educating children and adolescents (age 4 years to 15) about personal safety in schools so that they can identify and seek help in an unsafe situation. We recently launched www.arpanelearn.com, a free e-learning portal for children with structured online courses so that all the course content traditionally delivered in the classroom is now delivered online. Alongside Personal Safety Education (PSE), Arpan also trains and empowers teachers, parents with knowledge, attitude and skills to prevent and deal with Child Sexual Abuse and uses advocacy and research to push for policy and systemic change.
Department: Communications. This department is responsible for brand building, stakeholder communications and digital marketing.

3. Key Objectives of the Job
Create and implement a comprehensive communications plan to engage with different stakeholders across platforms (including website, newspaper articles, annual report, newsletters, blogs, and social media) in a timely and systematic manner to promote Arpan, showcase its work and bring visibility to the issue of Child Sexual Abuse.

The issue of Child Sexual Abuse is a very sensitive and nuanced topic. For this, Arpan has a dedicated team of professionals who create resources that also form the framework for communications. The incumbent (Manager – Communications) will be expected to understand and refer to these resources while developing literature and messages for internal & external communications.

Graduation/Post-Graduation in Mass Media, Journalism, Social Studies and related fields.
8. Mandatory Work Experience
6+ years of work experience as a Communications professional. Prior experience in non-profit sector will be an advantage.
