1.Stem Trainer

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Digital Equalizer (DE) envisions a world where all children from under-served communities, especially girls, are prepared for a career and life. The program is bridging India’s digital divide by providing and integrating technology into underperforming, under-resourced public schools, training teachers in techno-pedagogy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) methodology, and transforming classrooms into collaborative and interactive places for students to learn while preparing them for success in the 21st-century global economy.

Targeting students most at risk of dropping out of school (grades 6-10),

Digital Equalizer instills a love for learning in them.

Since its inception in 2004, the Program has empowered 8.14 million children with interactive STEM experiences, trained 240,302 teachers in STEM pedagogy, and transformed 46,385 schools across 35 states and union territories of the country.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The STEM trainer is a key functionary of the program based at the STEM Innovation and Learning centre implementing the program in the schools. The STEM trainer will be stationed at STEM Innovation and learning centre.

  • Work with Govt Schools (as assigned allocated).
  • Responsible for database management of the schools allotted, including update of information of
    the transfer of enrolled teachers and any deputation.
  • Provide training to the enrolled teachers on Techno-pedagogy, Girls for Tech Curriculum and STEM Education
  • Responsible for Transacting the Girls for Tech curriculum for the enrolled students and train the students preparing STEM Models
  • Responsible for tracking monthly progress of students along with addressing any challenges under this system and design remedial activities, for the same.
  • Responsible for coordinating and ensuring timely programme delivery and giving regular updates to the respective stakeholders on the progress made.
  • Help students make their projects and present them in front of various stakeholders.
  • Conduct events like class chats, mentoring sessions, inter-school and intra-school activities, share-out and hackathons with the school students.
  • Liaison with district and state functionaries and responsible for regular qualitative training programs
  • Responsible to bring in innovative ideas and to create visibility of the programme at districts
  • Development of STEM kit with facilitator manual, worksheets and videos with the help of team and state level
    ● Develop STEM material in line with the school curriculum.
  • Any other task as assigned by the line manager.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Science/technology/education with around 2-5 years of experience in the relevant sector.
  • Good programme knowledge and conversant with emerging technologies in the development sector.
  • Skills in focusing on programme quality and positive approach in resolving challenges
  • Good data analysis skills with programme planning and design monitoring and evaluation frameworks and techniques
  • Strong in people management with an effective performance management approach and commitment
  • High level of networking and representation skills
  • Good analytical and numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal Ability to be adaptable and flexible to change
  • Ability to travel extensively

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, engineering or computer applications
  • Knowledge of Coding and ability to use technology
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Familiarity with local language

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular field visits to orient Teachers and Students in the classrooms on techno pedagogy, STEM Kits, and other STEM Activities.
  • Everyday visit to the schools and ensure the effectiveness of the program.
  • Responsible for data collection.
  • Reporting as per Organization standards. Prepare Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly reports.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the school staff and other stakeholders to gauge the program’s effectiveness and monitor the project indicators.
  • Ensure project implementation in all the schools, so that Key Performance Indicators of the project are met promptly.
    ● Build and manage relationships with principals and Teachers to enhance program ownership.
    ● Identify and document case studies to share as part of the program reporting.
    ● Ensuring adherence to minimum guarantee components in all schools of the respective Clusters.
    ● Responsible for coordinating and ensuring timely program delivery and updating the respective
    stakeholders.
    ● Any other activities assigned by the Project Lead to fulfill programmatic outcomes and goals.

REQUIRED KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
● A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, engineering or computer applications
● Around 01-02 years of experience in a similar field.
● Proficiency in coding (basics), computer science, use of MS Office, MS Excel is desirable.
● Possesses a variety of skills – multi-tasking, time management, flexibility and adaptability.
● Good communication skills in English – both written and verbal.
● Good Analytical skills and problem solver.
● Ability to work in the field, with communities, and in multi-stakeholder processes.
● Readiness to travel and commit to demanding program requirements.
● Familiarity with local language
