About our program
Schools play an important role in socializing children into a gendered society. Although the role of teachers is highly emphasized in the development of schools, the role of school leaders is less studied. However, often, the school leader is someone who can set the culture of the school. Therefore, school leaders have an important role in helping establish a positive culture in schools where students feel safe and are encouraged to pursue their goals. This program will work on enhancing the leadership qualities of the school leaders so that they provide the best opportunities to learn, improve, and grow as individuals to their students,without any discrimination based on caste, gender and religion.

1. Program Manager

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Position Summary
As a Program Manager, the individual will be responsible for providing expert-level support to a designated group of principals and education officials and developing activities that will help them become effective leaders.

The program manager will support the school leaders in ensuring that their schools are gender sensitive. The program manager will also be responsible for thought partnering on program management & execution of the program with the senior leadership team. The program manager will be primarily be working on the below four areas:

• Facilitate workshops
• Coaching school leaders
• Tracking program effectiveness
• Program customisation for implementation in schools context

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals, with experience in training and mentoring adults (working with government school teachers/school principals would be an added advantage). There will be multiple learning and growth opportunities within the organization for the candidate’s
professional development.

The program manager should be comfortable with traveling to schools assigned across the district
based on the needs of the program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Serve as coach to principal which involves school visits, zoom sessions
• Support implementation of the training sessions
• Support school leaders’ achievement of goals
• Track school leaders’ progress to assess the effectiveness of support
• Assist in developing on-site support protocols, tools, and materials tailored to the specific needs of the school leader’s
• Build and foster relationships and collaboration to ensure support is effective
• Analyze School Leader’s practice through classroom observations/teacher feedback
• Provide instructional and operational support to the Curriculum team
• Provide strategic input on the ongoing development of Alokit’s curriculum as per the project
• Collect data from school leaders to ensure the program objectives are being met
• Collect, analyze and report data to the M&E team to monitor effectiveness and workshop delivery

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required, preferably a Master’s Degree in Education
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the Education sector
• Experience of working with government
• Telugu speaking candidates would be an added advantage

Compensation

Salary range – 3,60,000 to 6,50,000 INR per annum

2.Program Lead- Shakti

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Position Summary
As a Program lead the individual will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the Shakti program. This will involve implementing Alokit’s framework for training and supporting school leaders, and evaluating and monitoring their progress.

The individual will also be responsible for supporting the team of program managers. Additionally, the program lead will directly support a few school leaders. The program lead will work closely with the senior leadership team to strengthen the on-ground operations to ensure the effective execution of the program. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals, with experience in training and mentoring adults and working with governments. There will be multiple learning and growth opportunities within the organization for the candidate’s professional development.

The program lead should be comfortable with traveling and supporting program managers during their school visits across the state based on the needs of the program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Serve as coach to principal/supervisors which involves school visits, phone calls, and communication over email
• Support and quality assure the work of the 5-6 Program Managers to ensure a positive, developmental experience for all School leaders throughout the program
• Support implementation of the training sessions
• Assist in developing on-site support protocols, tools, and materials tailored to the specific needs of the school leader’s
• Analyze School Leader’s practice through classroom observations/teacher feedback sessions, data analysis, and school and works with the School Leader on areas of Improvement
• Provide instructional and operational support to the Curriculum team
• Collect data from school leaders to ensure the program objectives are being met
• Collect, analyze and report data to the M&E team to monitor effectiveness and workshop delivery
• Work with the M&E team to ensure program evaluation, data collation, and analysis to capture long term impact
• Liaising with government officials and updating them on the progress of the program on a regular basis
• Develop and manage relationships with all key stakeholders of the department

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required, preferably a Master’s Degree in Education
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience, at least three years in the education sector
• Experience of working with government officials / departments is preferred
• Experience of working on gender issues is preferred
• Experience of managing a team would be an added advantage
• Telugu speaking candidates would be preferred

Compensation Salary range – 7,00,000 to 11,00,000 INR per annum
