Agastya International Foundation, a public charitable trust doing pioneering work in “sparking creativity among disadvantaged children and teachers in India through hands-on science education (www.agastya.org).” Agastya operates a 172-acre Creativity Lab campus near Bangalore and a fleet of 150+ mobile science labs, 75+ rural science centres that reach hands-on training to children and teachers across 23 states in India. To date, Agastya has touched over 13 million children and 200,000 teachers, making it the largest mobile science education program in the world.

Job Title: Executive – Impact Assessment

Number of Positions: 2

Location: Bengaluru

Job Type: Full-time (5 -Day Work). The ideal candidate is someone who loves traveling as the job requires occasional traveling to our program locations.

Salary: This is an entry-level position. The compensation will be based on the knowledge and domain experience (if any) of the candidate.

Job Description: We are seeking an interested, motivated, and skilled individual to join our Impact Assessment team. As an executive impact assessment, you will play a critical role in implementing, managing, and monitoring impact assessment activities (Both Qualitative and Quantitative). This position requires individual to be good in interviewing & writing skills, observation skills, interpersonal skills managing various stakeholders, conducting various types of field research, and reporting. The position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about social science research and are eager to make a meaningful impact in the field of education.

Key Roles and responsibilities: (On job training will be provided to the selected candidates)

  • Help in Implementing and Monitoring the Impact Studies across the selected locations.
  • Filed Visits includes Classroom Observations, conducting students Interviews, teacher Interviews etc.
  • Conducting Training for Field staff on impact assessment process, procedures and tests
  • Overseeing data collection activities in the field (includes quantitative surveys, interviews, case story collections etc), observations and reporting to evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of our initiatives.
  • Writing Case stories in English and mapping the documented case stories to Behaviour Matrix
  • Travelling across all Agastya program locations

Eligibility:

  • Post Graduate or Graduate in Science/ Public policy/ Development Studies / Education / Economics / Communication / Social
  • Work or similar fields etc. Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
  • Good computer skills, especially the use of MS-Office application software (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Excellent communication skills in English and alongside one or two regional languages
  • Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English (Must Have)
  • Familiarity with ethical guidelines and practices in the domain of impact assessment.
  • Holding good inter-personal skills, a team player and a self-starter.

Preferred:

  • Past experience of working in NGO sector, especially Monitoring and Impact Assessment.
  • Relevant experience in conducting and executing impact assessment studies.
  • Quantitative and Analytical skills.
  • Creative writing and content development skills.
