Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government development organization. AKRSP(I) works as a catalyst for the betterment of rural communities by providing direct support to local communities. AKRSP(I) is active in over 2400 villages of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It has impacted lives of over 1.5 million people from marginalised sections of society. Over 80% of the households impacted by AKRSP(I)’s work belong to marginalised communities like tribals, dalits, and minorities. Over 60% of beneficiaries are women who form a core group for program interventions.

Programme Specialist (Agriculture)

Location : Dhule, Maharashtra

Education : Postgraduate in Agricultural Sciences/ Rural Management with agriculture background

Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of grass root experience in agriculture work

Skills & Competencies required:

• Sound knowledge in agricultural development concepts
• Proficiency in Marathi/Hindi language with working knowledge of English
• Sound knowledge of computer especially Microsoft office and internet
• Willing for frequent travelling
• Willing to work with underprivileged communities.
• Excellent analytical skills and reporting skills
• Good liaison and communication skills

Job Profile:

• Provide all required supports to team in agriculture projects.
• Ensure timely reporting, monitoring.
• Write case studies on agriculture work.
• Introduce innovation in agriculture practices.
• Develop communication material related to agriculture.
• Prepare package of practices of all kharif, rabi and summer crops.
• Training and capacity building support to the field staff
• Liaison and reporting with Donors and Govt. Dept
