Indian Administrative Fellowshipis an 18-month long impact fellowship that provides a platform for spirited senior professionals to partner with visionary civil servants in strategizing and implementing large-scale government programs that can transform public systems and impact millions.
The first cohort of IAF was launched in 2021 in partnership with the Government of Karnataka with a focus on accelerating pace of technology adoption and innovation in public systems and creating conducive policy to scale livelihood programs. July 23 – Cohort Kickoff – The cohort will be onboarded through induction training programs.
The Fellows will be entrusted with the responsibility to
Understand the departmental priorities, interventions and challenges through research and stakeholder deliberation.
Propose and formulate the framework & strategy, for an effective intervention design and delivery on the focus area: Enable consensus & collaboration with various stakeholders, within the department and externally, for the engagement.
Document regular updates as part of the engagement review and reporting frameworks.
Deliver on aligned goals in coordination with the department with a high sense of ownership and accountability; also ensuring the delivery of a pilot to establish evidence on the intervention effectiveness.
Engage in cohort interaction spaces and academic accreditation designed to build capacity and camaraderie for effective engagements
Fellows engage with the government
All Fellows would be Indian Administrative Fellows with the Government but the formal engagement shall be as a Consultant with The/Nudge. The Fellow will be stationed at the secretariat/relevant department office and work closely with the Principal Secretary of the department on strategic initiatives. The Civil Servant and the Fellow shall work as a team ensuring exceptional progress is made on the project over the course of the program, while the Civil Servant will step up to solve for stakeholder access, alignment & administrative support.
The Fellows shall have access to:
A platform to impact millions – An unparalleled opportunity to collaborate with the State leadership to enhance the reach and efficiency of State priorities.
Leadership Development Bootcamps – The Fellows shall be undergoing an extensive curriculum curated to build capacity for efficient comprehension, formulation, and execution of programs/projects.
Expert Advice and Mentoring – The Fellows will be mentored and supported by leading public policy institutes, a pool of subject matter experts, industry leaders, and mentors.
Stipend – Each Fellow will receive a stipend of Rs. 12 lacs p.a. for the duration of the Fellowship.
Impact Showcase and Accreditation – There would be multiple instances during the course of the Fellowship where the Fellow’s contribution would be highlighted across media & case studies. There would also be a ceremony featuring senior administrators, notable leaders from the development sector and other corporates with a formal accreditation by the government.
Criteria for selection to the Fellowship?
The candidate should be an Indian resident, although OCI cardholders who are regular taxpayers can consider applying.
Must have 15+ years of demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformational initiatives.
Must be comfortable with working 6 days work weeks, travelling or working in the field, committing full-time to the assignment during the 18-month long engagement.
Relevant skill set and experience to lead large scale programs with a relentless grit, perseverance and humility to work in harmony with the state administration.
There is no upper age limit for the role so long as one has the intent, commitment, and skill to contribute.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to multiple interactions with The/Nudge team and partners including serving or retired senior IAS officers to determine their fit for the Fellowship. The final round will be with the Principal Secretaries with whom the Fellows would be working.
