India Migration Fellowship 2021

Description: Bandhu Urban Tech and India Migration Now have been working with migrant workers, providing financial services, documentation, entitlements, and housing by keeping vulnerable migrants at the center of their respective interventions.
The fellowship program will dive deeper into key policy areas – Education, Housing, Identity and Registration, Health and Sanitation, Financial Inclusion, Livelihoods, Entitlements, and Housing, combining mixed research and advocacy methods with field experiences.
Eligibility Criteria:
IMN and Bandhu Urban Tech seek candidates with any of the following qualification:
- Currently pursuing a masters degree in economics/public policy/any subject in the social sciences
- First year of PhD in economics/public policy/sociology, social work, economics, political science, architecture (housing/urbanism focus)
- A min. four years bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain analysis, computer science, urban design/planning, data science, law or any subject in the social sciences
Fellowship Support:
- A comprehensive overview of the migration phenomenon
- Deep dive into migrant centric sectors and activities – construction, labour, subcontracting, etc.
- Qualitative and quantitative methodological training
- Understanding financial exclusion with respect to migrant and capacity building on IMN and Bandhu teams
- Combining on-ground learnings with big data insights to understand the larger picture
- Focusing on holistic technological advancement to solve key pain points of migrant workers
