Impact Evaluation Fellowship 2022

At Haqdarshak, we are building the systems to support a next-gen welfare delivery service at the last-mile. With technology being leveraged by a trained support agent, our model is designed to scale and empower.

Did you know that the Indian Government spends about USD 400 billion on social welfare and security programs every year? Despite this, there are 124 million people living below the poverty line and 400 million more working in the unorganized sector with no formal entitlements. At Haqdarshak, this is the problem we are trying to solve through an assisted tech model which ensures last mile connectivity. We feel both humble and proud that in the last 6 years we have channelized over INR 1400 crore and reached more than 1.5 million families across 22 states in the country. In the process, we have trained over 15000 women entrepreneurs — the frontline support agents — who earn a livelihood because they are trained on our products and processes. And we are super proud because this is no mean achievement. But we know, there is just so much more to do.

The Impact Evaluation fellowship at Haqdarshak is designed around :

• Understanding our end beneficiaries better. These are typically rural and urban Indians earning less than Rs.500 a day. They could be labourers, farmers, domestic workers, gig-economy workers, sanitation workers, or even a street vendor.
• Getting real time insights from this group.
• Informing data-based decisions to make delivery of government and private welfare services easier and better.

What will you do?

• Surveys which will be largely telephone-based or computer assisted. If you have a laptop and mobile, you are all set to work from anywhere.
• You could be a student or professional from any stream. If you are a fresher, we will give you a basic training on surveys.
• We’d expect you to have some basic knowledge of social entitlements and government structures. If you don’t, be ready to learn.
• Need to know an additional Indian language apart from English. More than one is definitely definitely a plus.

Does this fellowship pay?

• Yes, it does. We are looking at a fixed payout of Rs.10,000 per month.
• Minimum 3 months commitment is required.
• We will also consider you for full-time roles post the completion, if we like you and you like us.
