How Do We Create More Jobs? – Kautilya

Kautilya School of Public Policy invites you to a discussion on the topic “The India Story: How Do We Create More Jobs?” as a part of our Let’s Talk Policy Series.

COVID-19 has caused widespread socioeconomic upheaval. An ILO report predicts 1.6 billion informal economy workers could suffer “massive damage” to their livelihoods, and 81 million jobs have been lost in the Asia Pacific alone. In nearly all economies with available quarterly data for 2020, employment levels contracted compared to 2019. The report further states that employment growth will be insufficient to make up for the losses suffered until at least 2023.

In India, middle-class Indians have seen salary cuts and are dealing with higher inflation. Employees in sectors such as tourism, aviation, services sector and retail have been worst affected by the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

The road to recovery is long, and job creation is an immediate need.

Join us for the Let’s Talk Policy session on July 20, as we discuss this with industry experts

Schedule:
Date: Tuesday, 20th July 2021
Time: 07:00 PM to 08:00 PM IST

Feel free to reach out to our admissions team for any further queries. We look forward to seeing you at the Webinar.
