The Energy Swaraj Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, formed to establish Energy Swaraj across the world. The motto of the ESF is “Energy by Locals for Locals”. The training courses have been designed to bring confidence in solar and make them energy independent. It will play a significant role in mitigating climate change and reducing our carbon footprint.
Energy is the driver of our social and economic growth, on the one hand, while on the other hand, excessive use of fossil energy has caused climate change. Becoming energy literate is the first step towards climate correction. Energy literacy training helps people in understanding energy, its generation, consumption and wastage. It helps to understand carbon footprint and its impact on the environment. Through this certified training course, one will understand means to avoid and minimize energy usage, how to become carbon neutral, clear misconceptions around solar energy and ways to adopt solar energy solutions.
The Energy Literacy Training comprises 12 modules. Each module is of 10-15 minutes, with a total duration of 4-5 hours. Each module would consist of 4’Es –
1. Establish the concept/information regarding module (4-5 mins)
2. Example to get the sense of the concept (2-3 mins)
3. Exercise (2 to 3 min long) for people to think and write based on their understanding
4. Exam (2 to 3 min long).
At the end of the training session, the participants will take their pledge to take actions to avoid wastage of energy, use it efficiently or switch to solar energy (if they wish to).
