D4GX India 2021 Empowerment Challenge

Over the last year, the unprecedented suffering caused by the pandemic was met with an equally relentless development of rapid solutions by innovators within civil society, whether it was incisive healthcare tools, support to displaced migrant workers, or alternate job creation for those out-of-work. D4GX India aims to bring together innovators, funders, and ecosystem builders to continue growing and developing such innovations, and rebuild Indian communities who suffer most deeply at the hand of any crisis, with an inclusive and participatory arsenal of solutions.
As you have seen through your own experience of on-ground relief work during the pandemic’s worst hours, COVID-19 has set India back on 10 of 17 SDG indicators, and we face the biggest economic contraction in 80 years. We believe that scaling social innovations that use data to create exponential change will be a crucial enabler to India’s recovery after the pandemic. In the last year, Dasra, in partnership with Bloomberg, Societal Platform, and Stanford PACS, has been hosting a series of events under the Data for Good Exchange (D4GX) 2021 India, with the aim of enabling data agency for India’s most vulnerable communities.
As part of this larger initiative, the D4GX India 2021 Empowerment Challenge – is a hunt for exceptional data-focused innovations that empower vulnerable communities, creating inclusive & resilient growth. We also highly encourage applications from NGOs working with women, LGBTIQ+ persons, persons from Dalit, Bahujan, Adivasi, and other tribal communities.
About the Challenge
The D4GX India 2021 Empowerment Challenge aims to foster the growth of high-potential, data-focused solutions that can help us rebuild India.
NGO Winners across three themes – Data to enable equitable health services, Data to create urban resilience, Data to enrich learnings to livelihood transitions, will be awarded with innovation design grants, mentorship support with leading experts in the data space, and strong networks to further develop their innovations.
