The Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program aims to provide a unique chance to the state’s youth to collaborate with the government on tourism strategy, management, implementation, and monitoring. Under the program, the selected researchers will be trained in the overall development of the state’s tourism, culture, and ecology, the concurrent evaluation of the schemes implemented by the Central/State Government, and the preparation of the outline for the state’s fairs and festivals. The proposal is to choose researchers so that competent and passionate researchers can participate in the state’s tourist development goals and initiatives. The fellowship program will select researchers working in associated subjects such as tourism, culture, history, and the surrounding atmosphere. The selected researchers would operate under the supervision of the District Magistrate, Divisional Commissioner, and Tourism Department official.
Objectives of Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program
Following are the major objectives of the Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program:
Remuneration
Under the Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program, the selected researcher will be paid Rs. 30,000 as remuneration and Rs. 10,000 only for field visit per month. A tablet will also be provided to the researcher and accommodation will be arranged by the researcher himself.
Period of engagement and annual performance appraisal
The affiliation period of the selected researcher under the Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program will be valid for one year from the date of joining. The affiliation period can be extended for one year on the basis of excellent work done in view of usefulness and need in the tourism sector. Apart from remuneration and field visit, no other payment will be allowed. Under the program, a certificate will be given by the department for the work done successfully by the researcher within the prescribed period.

Management
The implementation and management of the fellowship program will be done by the Tourism Department. Hotel Management, Food Technology and Applied Nutrition Institute, Honourable Kanshi Ram Institute of Tourism Management, Lucknow, and Food Craft Institute, Aligarh will be instrumental in the selection process of the researchers.
Eligibility Criteria
For selection in the Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program, research scholars will have to apply online on the website of the Tourism Department. The eligibility for selection will be as follows:-
Essential Qualification
Graduation with first class or minimum 60 percent marks from leading recognized institutions/universities or higher educational qualification.
Preferential Qualification
Age Limit
The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed 40 years as on the last date of receipt of application.
Selection Process Scrutiny of Application Forms
Online applications will be invited on the website of Tourism Department for selection of research scholars. It will be mandatory to upload a statement of purpose in 500 words along with the application form. A departmental committee will be constituted for screening the received applications. Screening will be done by the departmental screening committee as follows.
A- Screening(1) Ambiguous applications will be removed after screening.
(2) Duplicity control: Only one application with 1 email ID, phone number and 1 name will be accepted.
(3) Eligibility of research scholars: Only graduates (minimum 60% marks) or post graduates or Ph.D. (completed or thesis submitted) students will be eligible.
(4) Age criteria: Applicants who are within the age limit of 40 years will be eligible to apply.
(5) Applications of applicants who have not uploaded a statement of purpose of 500 words will be rejected.
B- Evaluation of applications
The following action will be taken by the screening committee while evaluating the applications.
C- Objective Scoring: 50 marks
Objective scoring of the applicants will be done by the Screening Committee as per the following criteria.
Educational Qualification & Work Experience
D- Interview: 25 marks
A three-member selection committee will be constituted by the government for interviewing the researchers. Researchers will have to submit original and self-certified copies of all documents attached with the application form at the time of interview. Verification of educational qualification will be done at the time of interview. In the interview, the personality of the researchers, general knowledge, enthusiasm towards work etc. will be assessed. Taking into account the statement of purpose submitted by the candidates along with the application form, the candidates will be scored out of 25 marks.
The top 25 candidates will be chosen in descending order based on the total number of marks acquired and in accordance with the scheme’s terms and conditions. Aside from the aforementioned, 25 research researchers will be retained on the waiting list. Among the researchers that receive equal points, the older one will be ranked higher in the preferred list.
Training
Under the Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program, selected researchers will receive two weeks of training at the Honourable Kanshi Ram Institute of Tourism Management in Lucknow, which will include lectures from experts from specialized institutes such as FHRAI New Delhi, ITTM Noida, IHM Lucknow, FCI Aligarh, Institute of Archaeology Delhi, and others.
