The Fellowship will bring together 25-30 peers from across Asia-Pacific who are looking to develop a smarter portfolio for greater financial and social returns in the region. It aims to equip participants with the know-how to advocate for GLI within their organisation and investor networks, and to advance participants’ leadership skills by introducing a systems change perspective.
Across the globe, there has been growing awareness that incorporating gender considerations into investment strategy is not only the good thing to do, but also the smart thing to do. Applying a gender lens to investment creates the opportunity to achieve both better financial returns and greater gender outcomes by: further realising the potential of women as consumers, entrepreneurs, and employees; broadening investment risk assessment and management; empowering women and girls to become agents of economic development, and more.
At the same time, asset owners and wealth managers in Asia-Pacific are lacking the specific tools, in-depth knowledge, and tight-knit community to take advantage of the latest developments and implement a gender lens into their portfolio.
The GLI Fellowship aims to address investor demand to deepen their understanding and advance the expertise required to better integrate a gender lens into their investment strategy.
The Fellows will consist of Family Office Principals/Directors, Private Equity and Venture Capital Fund managers, Foundation Directors, and NextGen Leaders; those who have access to significant capital, or have responsibility for large investment portfolios and are used to managing the assets of high net worth individuals, families or funds.
