Akamai Technologies is a leading Cloud Security & Content Delivery services company that powers and protects digital experiences of billions of people online every second. The Accelerator Program is an Akamai India CSR flagship initiative to provide financial & mentoring support to early stage innovators in the water space, in collaboration with International Centre of Clean Water (ICCW) at IIT Madras.
The Accelerator Program is currently open for applicants who have developed a pilot solution to solve urban water challenges through the deployment of innovative technologies.
Key Aspects of the Program:
- Funding support for startups for 1 year along with mentorship support from the International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW) housed at IIT Madras Research Park
- Applicants must have as established proof of concept and should be able to produce the need for the solution through a filed or market study.
- Preference is for solutions focused on water conservation and water resource management.
The key criteria to be part of the program are:
1. The solution helps address a key challenge the society is facing in the “water” space
2. The applicant must have an established technology-based solution (a working proof of concept) that can be scaled with further financial support
3. Applicant should be able to validate the need for such a solution through a proper study (a field or market survey, a report published by a respected government agency or an enterprise working in this field)
4. Preference is for the solutions focused on water conservation/ water resource management.
The qualified applicant can get a grant upto INR 30 lakhs for a period of one year and can get an extension once all the agreed milestones are delivered and further funding is needed.
Akamai Technologies invites innovations to solve India’s water crisis
With its flagship efforts to solve urban water challenges through innovative technology, Akamai, a frontrunner in Cloud Security & Content Delivery services, is going a step further and accepting applications from enthusiastic social start-ups across the country.
The applicant should have an established tech-based solution for a key societal challenge preferably in the areas of water conservation/ water resource management.
Applications are open until 30th September 2022 from potential social innovators/ startups, driving innovative technology to solve urban water challenges across India.
