FPO Business development and marketing executive – Action for Food Production (AFPRO)

Action for Food Production (AFPRO) is an Indian socio-technical non-governmental organization of National Importance (as notified by GoI) working for the development of the rural poor through effective natural resource management solutions.

Mission Statement: AFPRO dedicates itself for alleviating rural poverty, through partnerships, networking and collaborations with like-minded Institutions, with a focus on enabling the marginalized and weaker sections of the Society.

Our Domain Areas: Water, Sanitation, Watershed Management, Climate Resilient Sustainable Agriculture, Livelihood Diversification, and Climate Change for effective management of natural resources. AFPRO having its Head Office in New Delhi requires Livestock Specialist to be based at our project area Korba, Chhattisgarh with the following requirements:

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness/ FPO – Business operation – MBA / B.Sc Agriculture or equivalent

Experience: 2-3 years of work experience in agriculture and allied livelihood promotion sector, FPO, Value Chain Management.

Age : 25-35 years

Compensation: 33000-35000/- Including travel

Job Description

Ø He/she must be having experience in FPC operation. Having knowledge of FPC legal compliance. Experience linkage with marketing players and financial institution.

Ø FPO-CEO for business development.

Ø Plan and coordinate with the project team

Ø Liaison with Government and Private players organizing capacity building events,

Ø Preparation of communication materials, documentation of periodical reports, case studies, MIS etc

Ø Ensure crop planning and inputs requirement at the farmer level and consolidation of information at FPO level for the planning of collective activities: Demand generation

Ø Establish linkages with Private and Govt. Agencies for both input and output marketing of FPO

Ø Preparing FPOs Business Planning and Establishment of required systems in FPOs

Ø Resource mobilization, infrastructure establishment, linkages for FPOs

Ø Conduct Capacity building programs, training, and workshop for enhancing the business skills of FPO CEOs and BoD members

Ø Field visit to FPO area along with FPO CEO and FPO committee to assess the cropping patter and liaison with buyers for sales

Ø Facilitate applying and acquiring required licenses like inputs, Marketing and other dealerships in addition to Pan, GST for FPOs

Ø Participate in BoD monthly meeting and assess the challenges and opportunities

Ø Sustaining the FPO business model

Additional Skills:

§ The applicant must be mature, capacity for good public relations, team building, resilient and motivated. Ability to meet deadlines.

§ Good communication and presentation skills both in English and Hindi

§ Excellent computer skills

§ Liaison with other NGOs and Resources Organisations – build and strengthen relationships

§ The applicant will be responsible for documentation efforts for knowledge sharing, visibility enhancement of the organisation.
