Job Description
Urban Field coordinator will be responsible to engage with Urban coordinators, FLWs, Ward members, MAS, SHGs, communities, especially mothers/caregivers to strengthen the Urban immunization programme. They will be assisting the Program officer in the task of planning and implementation of project activities and will involve extensive travel to districts for required support as and when needed.
Job Responsibilities
- S/he will be responsible for establishing working relationships and coordinating with urban officials immunization officer and partners for successfully undertaking project related activities.
- Assist program officer in planning, designing, and identifying District specific needs and challenges during the implementation.
- Participate in the monthly/quarterly meetings related to immunization at block level.
- Strengthening Routine immunization program and microplanning at urban health facilities.
- Support in Micro plan review & its updation, RI monitoring activities in the field, feedback sharing, BWR meetings etc.
- Supportive supervision and regular session site monitoring of Routine immunization.
- Providing technical support to increase immunization coverage in high-risk population of urban areas.
- Prepare a database of the block in terms of no. of health facilities, no. of Cold Chain points, no. of VHSNDs, No. of relevant health staffs available in the block, RI training status in the block.
- Providing technical support to Health department of Municipal Corporation for increasing routine immunization coverage and improving maternal and child health services.
- Capacity building of Health functionaries and frontline workers for effective implementation immunization program.
- He/ She shall work in close coordination and with Program officers and partners to identify areas for intensive advocacy and social mobilization for Urban Routine Immunization
- Motivate immunization champions through a consistent approach, supportive supervision and clearly defined tasks by Program Officer
- Facilitate implementation of Demand Generation plans as developed under the project.
- Organise camps for awareness generation. Make use key community sites such as mosques, schools, and festivals for counselling, and problem solving
- Enhancing awareness and demand generation through MAS, SHG and ULBs.
- Supporting COVID 19 awareness activities and strengthening of COVID 19 vaccination sites in public health facilities.
- Undertake field visits as per the approved workplan for the week/ month under the administrative supervision of program officer.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Program officer and the State Manager
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
JSIPL seeks a results-oriented individual with the ability to produce and lead teams in producing high quality deliverables, managing multiple concurrent tasks, and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail.
The successful candidate is required to have:
- Graduation in any discipline. MSW, MPH or post-graduation in public health is desirable
- Minimum 2 years of field experience working in routine immunization / public health
- Experience of working with Community organizations / community networks
- Desirable: prior work experience in social work, NGO, community development activities, and health services, worked with District level officials’ government in a similar role; Experience in working in hard-to-reach areas and challenging situations
- Excellent interpersonal relations; ability to network, work in multi-cultural team environment, and work harmoniously with multiple partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English with expertise in managing data/information on tablets and preparing reports for donor reporting.
- Willingness to travel extensively
