Purpose of the Role
To manage operations for base breeding station and satellite stations of Okra.
Position: Assistant Farm Manager
Location: Hyderabad
Reporting: Senior Breeder- Okra
Qualification & Other Essentials:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Agriculture
- Passionate for agriculture-farming
- Sound knowledge on farm operations, agri inputs management
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English and local language (Telugu) is mandatory
- Proactive, self-motivated and self-driven person with high accountability
- Should be a team player to have an effective synergy between satellite stations
- Must be familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to work in extending office hours as and when required
Experience: 5 to 10 years relevant experience of farm management activities in Seeds or agri input industry/ research institute
Major Job Responsibilities
- Managing main station along with satellite stations across country
- Coordination with breeding team for smooth operations
- Planning and implementing land & farm developmental activities
- Land preparation well in advance as per plan
- Implementation of effective agronomy practices for raising good crop
- Handling all repairs and maintenance of farm implements & assets
- Management of seed storages and breeding poly houses
- Planning and management of farm workforce & payments
- Managing all farm expenses
- Periodical purchases of breeding stationeries, other materials, fertilizers and pesticides
- Maintaining farm records up to date
- Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports
- Planning and implementation of CAPEX
- Coordinate between vendors, R&D admin, central purchase & finance team
- Execute health and safety standards of Advanta across stations
- Frequent visits to satellite stations
- Monthly reports to station in-charge
Working Conditions:
- Expected to commit for long term association with organization
