Role Description
Job Purpose

Strategise and Implement CSR programmes with measurable outcomes within the approved agenda/verticals as decided by the Organisation bearing in mind delivery of value to beneficiaries in our chosen communities/geographies of influence.

Key Performance Indicators

Reconciliation of the Economic Objective with the effective contribution that one can make to the community, territory and relevant stakeholders.

Programme Design and Delivery for delivering need-based interventions for beneficiaries in designated communities.

Delivery of Measurable Outcomes within such Programmes that not only consider actions taken but also the Impact of those actions on the lives of beneficiaries. Further to understand Industry standards for measurement and establish CSR performance indicators to bring the organisation in line wherever pertinent.

Engagement with CSR Committee Members to keep them abreast of both the tasks being undertaken and the corresponding value delivered

Design of Employee Engagement Programmes to motivate the employees of the organization to participate in programmes for a cause and to also identify CSR champions across the organisation

People Management of 3 personnel (Officers) as direct reportees + direct engagement with CSR SPOCs across 9 plants + Various NGO partners across 3 verticals of Water Management, Primary Care delivery within Health and Hygiene and Upgradation Skilling for Tradesman.

To establish beneficial partnerships with “best in their field” NGOs or private players/experts/consultants

Ensuring requisite documents and clearances are available for individual projects as per SOP requirements

To develop and author an annual CSR report and collaterals that provides clarity of vision laid out and deliveries on strategy, implementation and performance. This report is to help in driving communication and branding

Key competencies

Data Gathering – Gathers data, analyses issues and breaks them down into their component parts. Makes systematic and rational judgements based upon relevant information.

Engages Others – Makes it easy for people to get involved in CR activities. Fosters the long term learning and development of others in order to make CR part of everyone’s knowledge and skill set.

Influence – Gains support for the CR agenda by persuading and convincing others. Understands others and influences them in a way that results in acceptance, agreement or behaviour change. In particular, is able to persuade people to be involved in CSR without using organisational structures.

Operational – Ensures the CR strategy goals are met by bringing the strategy to life and building CR into business as usual activities. Organises and schedules events, activities and resources. Sets up and monitors schedules, timescales and plans. In particular, is able to bring the CSR strategy to life using personal conversations, organising CSR activities and actively linking new/ existing activity to CSR.

Technical Expert – Seeks to understand the technical aspects of CSR work. Continually seeks out best practice to maintain technical currency and identify new approaches.

Individually the candidate must demonstrate an ability to –

a) Achievement of Tasks in the short term and achievement of Measurable Outcomes for beneficiaries in the Long Term for each Programme

b) Adherence to statutory compliances including budget utilization and alignment and adherence to organizational policies.

c) To be seen as the knowledge Leader and expert for CSR

d) To effectively communicate our CSR programmes to both internal and external stakeholders

Scope of Work

a) Financial Scope (Range of financial spend):

  • Annually 50 Cr+ in CSR Spending with 50% of the said amount under the CSR Manager’s direct influence

b) People Management Scope (Range of no. of Direct/ Indirect Reports):

  • Direct Reportees – 3 Officers / Direct Engagement expected with plant SPOCs across 9 plants

c) Geography Coverage (Country-wide/ State-wide / Area-wide)

  • Country-wide with an influence across 9 Plant Locations within communities upto a 20 Km radius.
  • Corporate HQ (Mumbai as well)

d) Corporate Coverage (Company-wide / Business Unit or Function-wide / Sub-function-wide / Other): Company Wide with a special focus on Manufacturing facilities and communities in their nearby vicinities

Key Interactions

Internal CSR Committee, Senior Hierarchy of Asian Paints and Plant SPOCs

External Beneficiaries, Stakeholders, NGOs and partners

Role Requirements / Specifications

Qualifications

  • MSW from a reputed Institute like TISS or its equivalent

Previous Experience

  • Previous CSR Experience with a Corporate or a Foundation or large reputed
  • NGO known for handling diverse CSR projects.
  • A minimum of 6 years work experience across the above mentioned organisations is a must.

Minimum Education MBA
Experience 10.00 to 15.00 years
