Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government development organization. AKRSP(I) works as a catalyst for the betterment of rural communities by providing direct support to local communities. AKRSP(I) is active in over 2400 villages of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It has impacted lives of over 1.5 million people from marginalised sections of society. Over 80% of the households impacted by AKRSP(I)’s work belong to marginalised communities like tribals, dalits, and minorities. Over 60% of beneficiaries are women who form a core group for program interventions.
Location : Ahmedabad
Education : Postgraduate in any discipline preferable in management. Specialization in HR is preferred.
Experience: 12 to 15 years managerial experience in HR functions particularly in non-profits is expected

Job Profile:
HR Strategy and organizational culture: Work with the CEO and Senior Management Team to develop an HR Strategy and to ensure that AKRSP-I is resourced to deliver on its strategic objectives; ensure that all aspects of the HR function promote an organizational culture of teamwork and service, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness
HR policies and procedures: Ensure continuous improvement of HR systems and policies, in line with current best practice and India’s legislation and regulations
Manpower planning and recruitment: Lead and facilitate the Manpower management and respective recruitment process and ensure that all hiring is in accordance with budget organizational guidelines; ensuring people with the right skills, experiences and attitudes are appointed in key positions
Induction and orientation: Develop and implement a comprehensive induction process for all employees during their first month of employment and support hiring managers and new hires during the probation period.
Remuneration and reward: Work with the Head of Finance and Administration to ensure that AKRSP-I’s remuneration framework allows the attraction, motivation, and retention of employees with the right skills and experience in accordance with Budget availability. Approach reward in an innovative manner to find ways to motivate and recognize staff in a non-pecuniary manner.
Duty of Care: Ensure that AKRSP-I meets its Duty of Care towards all employees including building awareness and implementation of safeguarding measures amongst AKRSP-I staff.
Staff development, engagement, and career progression: Focus on talent development including the regular processes of staff appraisal and feedback, goal setting, professional development, and career development to ensure that all employees have the opportunity to fulfil their career potential
Improving performance: Ensure the effective and timely implementation of the appraisal process, including mid and end of year reviews and support of the ongoing monthly meetings
Supporting HR implementation: Guide and coach managers on employee relationship and HR issues in line with company policies and best practice, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management
Administration: Support the Head of Administration that all AKRSP-I contracts are managed as per the law and up to date; provide payroll processing backup support; partner with accounting and payroll to maintain the payroll database.
Team building: Build the capacity of the HR Team ensuring technical and soft skill gaps are addressed
