Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) is the platform of choice for students and young professionals to participate in and make meaningful contribution to political affairs and governance of the country, without necessarily being part of a political party.

Started as Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG) in 2013, I-PAC has brought some of the best minds from diverse academic and professional backgrounds together and provided them with a unique opportunity to become a part of the election process and influence policy making in India.

I-PAC works with visionary leaders with a proven track record. In the process, the group helps them set a citizen-centric agenda and partners with them to conceptualise & implement the most effective methods of taking it to the public and gathering mass support.

1. Digital Communication Specialist

Location  Assam, Tripura

About Job:
We are looking for a digital communication specialist, who will be responsible for developing and executing communication plans to support IPAC’s digital platforms. As a part of I-PAC’s Digital Team, you will develop and run innovative campaigns to help expand the reach of our priority sectors and content themes. Using analytics, you will define and track our digital and social media performance, measure the success of campaigns and translate data into practical, strategic, and tactical actions. You will provide and enforce consistent, content creation support across a variety of formats (e.g.,creatives, infographics, blog posts, videos). You will collaborate with colleagues to ideate on content development strategy and review content prior to publication. As a Digital Communication specialist, you are expected to have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment, solving complex problems on an everyday basis, and the tenacity to survive tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and design digital campaigns at a massive scale and engage millions of people through digital channels.
  • Excellent knowledge of developing tailored campaigns for external outreach.
  • Content creation for campaign pages, banners, and other social media assets as needed through primary and secondary research
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Liaison with the IPAC field teams to ensure complete synchronization between field activity and digital operations
  • Keep up with all political developments and suggest campaign interventions as and when required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate or graduate degree from premier institutes
  • Excellent knowledge in developing tailored campaigns for external outreach
  • Understanding of social media platforms and digital best practices, SEO and web traffic metrics, experience with video content creation and storyboarding
  • Willingness to travel extensively and working for long hours
  • Strong analytical skills and creative thinking
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of digital analytics tools like Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics etc.
  • Hands-on experience with google and Facebook products for reporting and measuring KPIs
  • Experience with visual communication principles

2. Media Specialist

Location  Assam, Tripura

About Job:
The Media Team at I-PAC has set a benchmark for its standard of excellence, by working with the journalists’ network at the state and national level. The team is a platform for candidates to work with the essence of professional media knowledge. The candidate must be able to thrive in tight deadlines and should possess the skill of rhetorical engagement. The candidate must be a team player, and be able to adjust to diverse environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with journalists, forge healthy relationships with media houses & key influencers and manage critical situations like unforeseen incidents, fake news and negative coverage
  • Ability to research and draft press releases and suggest speech inputs
  • Understand the political dynamics of the project with the readiness to be on the field and coordinate with the ground team
  • Arrange press conferences and media events to propagate at the national and local levels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Journalism, Mass Communication from premier institutions
  • Proficiency in drafting documents and Microsoft Office
  • Established relationship with the State/ National journalists
  • Team player with good presentation and networking skills along with the ability to proactively identify issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be ready to work round the clock and shorter and tight deadlines
  • Work experience / Internship experience in the current media industry
  • Must have proficiency in Bengali, Hindi, English
