Arpan (NGO) is an award-winning organization working hard to address the issue of Child Sexual Abuse in India.

According to the National Child Abuse Study 2007, 53% of children have experienced some form of sexual abuse.

Based in Mumbai, Arpan is the largest NGO in India with over 100 social workers and counselors providing prevention and intervention services to children and adults.

Over the last 10 years, Arpan has reached out to over 200,000 children, adolescents and adults directly through its services of prevention and intervention and over 880,000 indirectly through training and capacity building of various stakeholders.

Major Deliverables

The major responsibilities are:

  • Ideating and developing resource/content for Arpan’s external and internal communication
  • Identifying and creating content for different stakeholder categories, taking into consideration the most effective media to engage with them
  • Developing guidelines regarding content creation and dissemination, setting up processes for quality driven content development
  • Maintaining a strong voice of the organisation online in alignment with Arpan’s positioning, ethos and values through social media and build, execute and own monthly social content calendars featuring videos, photos, graphics and text (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn,  Youtube and others) relevant to each platform
  • Monitoring and analyzing the response to content types and modifying content to ensure maximum engagement
  • Ensuring communication projects are executed in strict conformance with set standards for risks, safety and security and support the development of new standards for evolving channels.

Job Challenge
The issue of Child Sexual Abuse is a very sensitive and nuanced topic. For this, Arpan has a dedicated team of professionals who create resources that also form the framework for communications. The incumbent (Manager – Public Engagement) will be expected to understand and refer to these resources while developing literature and messages for internal & external communications.

2. Executive – Research, Monitoring & Evaluation

Major Deliverables 

  • Design research/evaluation studies to assess the process and efficacy of the programs/activities implemented by Arpan
  • Develop training modules and train the field investigators/staff collecting data on data collection procedures/protocols for evaluations/research studies
  • Perform field visits for data collection (such as conducting interviews/FGDs) as well as ensuring good quality of data
  • Write reports on evaluations/research studies conducted
  • Establish, modify and monitor key performance indicators (basis log frame analysis) to report and record progress for specific programs (on a monthly basis) and projects

Major Deliverables

  • Assist in design  and development of M&E system
  • Develop and revise the M&E data collection tools as per requirements.
  • Hold data quality assurance system, strengthen it and ensure quality data in MIS (offline and online)
  • Analyze programmatic data (Qualitative & quantitative) and draft report based on it.
  • Disseminate the evidences generated through programmatic data and other sources
