Centre for Public Policy Research CPPR is a public policy think-tank based in Kochi that works in the areas of research promotion, knowledge dissemination and capacity building. We have a talent pool from various parts of the country, who are experienced in handling socio-economic research projects. CPPR believes in engaging the right individuals for its initiatives and efforts in the area of public policy. ASSOCIATE – RESEARCH (International Relations)

1. Associate Department Research

Salary As per industry standards

Scope of Position Responsibility to ideate and execute research projects and research papers.

Key Responsibilities:

● Contributes towards ideation

● Responsible for generating content of all projects and research initiatives within the domain

● Responsible for assisting the supervisor in completion of all programmatic activities (Research and Projects)

● Responsible for coordinating public events like workshops, conclaves, seminars etc. which have been assigned by the Research officer.

● Responsible for management of internship programs

● Ensure that data collected through research tools is complete, accurate and comprehensive

● Interpret and analyze policies, public issues, legislation, and/or the operations of governments, businesses, and organizations.

● Consult with government officials, civic bodies, chambers of commerce and industries, research agencies, the media, political parties, and others concerned with the subject

Centre for Public Policy Research 

● Maintain current knowledge of government policy decisions with respect to the research subject.

● Evaluate programs and policies related to the subject.

● Reviewing and analysing media coverage, public opinion surveys and expert opinions from subject matter experts, government representatives and political consultants.

● Present research results by writing reports, giving presentations, and publishing articles

● Develop and test theories, using information from interviews, newspapers, periodicals, case law, historical papers, polls, and/or statistical sources

● Develop content for the courses on the research areas that can be run through CPPR academy

Qualifications and Experience:

● Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in the area of International Relations

● Who follows the regional and global defense and security developments

● Understanding about India’s Foreign Relations in the changing landscape in recent times

● Basic understanding about international commerce & trade

● Writing and articulation skills

● Understanding about IR institutions and IR think tanks

● Fluent in English. Working knowledge of Hindi or any regional language would be an added advantage

● Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet

● Interested in interacting with people and good networking skills

● Good analytical and organisational skills

● Proactive problem solver with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

● Thorough understanding in monetary policies and economic policies of the centre and the states.

● Hands on experience in data analysis and interpretation.

● Good understanding about the economic reforms and regulatory bodies

● Passion for the periodic scanning of the various indices published by govt agencies

● Good understanding of the financial institutions and the think tanks in the domain

● Fluent in English. Working knowledge of Hindi or any regional language would be an added advantage

● Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet

● Work experience and in-depth understanding in the areas of urban mobility, urban housing and urban governance.

● Basic understanding of Economics

● Ready to take up the lead roles

● Writing skills and articulation skills

● Passionate about the urban reforms and in depth understanding about the urban institutions and global urban think tanks

● Fluent in English. Working knowledge of Hindi or any regional language would be an added advantage

SENIOR ASSOCIATE (Outreach)

4. Senior Associate– Outreach Department Operations

Salary As per industry standards

Scope of Position Responsibility for overseeing Public Relations

Key Responsibilities:

● Design and lead the media strategy of the organization

● Overall management of organizational website and apps to ensure that it is regularly updated and becomes an avenue for outreach

● Lead and manage Virtual events, LMS, MOOC and Podcasts

● Deliver on internal and external communications strategy for CPPR

● Work with various media houses to disseminate research papers/articles produced by CPPR

● Manage media relations and ensure publicity/visibility of CPPR in national and international media

● Ensure regional and national media coverage for CPPR activities and events

● Organize press conferences, media briefings, visits of reporters covering CPPR activities, while highlighting CPPR’s programme priorities

● Capacity building of research and project teams in communications, media and campaigning

● Promote and enhance the brand of CPPR

● Respond to enquiries from the public, media, stakeholders and other organizations

● Make presentations about CPPR, as and when required to various stakeholders, governments and others

● Work with media establishments to widen the scope of CPPR activities and build a rapport with journalists and media houses

● Maintain and update CPPR’s media database

Qualifications and Experience:

● Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Journalism/Mass Communication/PR

● 5-6 years of experience

● Fluent in English and Malayalam. Working knowledge of Hindi or any regional language would be an added advantage

● Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet

● Preference for multimedia specialists

● Interested in interacting with people and good networking skills

● Good analytical and organisational skills

● Proactive problem solver with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

● Organised and capable of multitasking with a high level of attention to detail

● Excellent follow-up skills a must

● Travel required: 35% in a month
