The clock is ticking as India is likely to have half the water it needs by 2030. Hindustan Unilever Foundation (HUF) was set up in 2010 to support scalable solutions that can help address India’s water challenges. Our ‘Water for Public Good’ programme is anchored in the belief that water is a shared resource and must be managed through citizen-led initiatives.

  •  KNOW MORE through innovative water numeracy solutions like water simulation games and water budgeting that can help them map water sources, estimate water needs and quantify use
  • SAVE MORE through large scale water conservation infrastructure using GIS and data-driven tools for measurement, decision making and governance
  • USE LESS by driving behaviour change amongst farmers to adopt responsible water-use solutions that can secure their yields and reduce their overall costs of farming

HUF consciously partners with non-profit organisations, social enterprises, technology innovators and sector specialists. We are aware that scalable solutions for water security will require deep partnerships with a cross section of partners. Our current partners include some of the largest NGOs in the country as well as regional organisations that have done incredible work in a particularly vulnerable geography.

Candidate Profile: India has the science and the solutions to solve for the water crisis. However, scale has been elusive. Over the course of the next 3-5 years, HUF will embark on partnership driven programmes built on a foundation of shared purpose, ambitious scale and sustainable impact. The goal is to co-create programmes that leverage the capacity, resources, imagination and collective will of multiple stakeholders towards securing India’s water future. We are looking for dynamic and experienced team members to lead a portfolio of water conservation programmes.

Key Qualifying Considerations For The Role Are

Candidates passionate about water and strong on collaborative action would be ideal for the role. There are two profiles of development or private sector professionals who would thrive in this role:

  • Demonstrable project management skills for large-scale projects
  • Effective written communication and data analytics capabilities
  • Prior and relevant work experience of at least 8-10 years
    The position is based out of New Delhi and will require extensive travel (when travel resumes). The HUF team is close knit with members from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Mutual respect and high standards of accountability are values that we all share and expect of new team members.

Key Deliverables For The Role

  •  Conceptualise an informed strategy and approach to rural water conservation that is wired for scale
  • Co-create a robust portfolio of projects with partner organisations that intersect with flagship central and state government programmes such as MGNREGS, Jal Jeewan Mission and others
  • Identify credible and capable non-profit and social impact partners with relevant experience in rural water conservation
  • Deploy a robust process of project conceptualisation, design and technology integration
  • Track grants on achievement of key milestones and KPIs; take joint course corrective action
  • Nurture an engaged network of NGOs, think tanks, experts to amplify effective water conservation solutions
  • Manage relationships with key donors; create co-funded programs for large scale impact
  • Anchor third party programme evaluation process for the portfolio
  • Take on one passion project each year to pursue a thematic area of professional interest

2. Assistant Media Manager

About the job

Location: Mumbai HO

Main Job Purpose

The person is expected to analyze and understand media outputs along with brand business outcomes both short and long term. The person must be process oriented with an eye for detail. At the same time, the person must have the ability to foresee the changes in media landscape and make changes to media planning process accordingly.

The person will lead integrated media planning for key categories in HUL.

Here is how your day at Unilever would look like:

  • In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing direction, with recommendations, in integrating all areas of media which includes both traditional media and Digital media to drive brand growth.
  • The candidate will work with the brand/marketing teams within the company in building best-in-class Multimedia Plans.
  • The candidate will take the lead in developing effective media touchpoints for brand communications. The job requires the candidate to work in partnerships with existing agencies. And, needs to build trust and rapport with internal stake holders and external agencies alike.
  • The job holder is an integral member of the CCBT (Country Category Brand Team] and reports to the Media Manger for HUL. The position will liaise with Category Heads to conceptualize, develop and execute best in class media plans for the brands covering both traditional and digital media landscapes.
  • Managing relationships with Media Agency and Partners to ensure robust deployment of plans.

Key Skills Requirement

  • Hands on media planning, deployment and evaluation experience mandatory
  • Have media agency / advertise side experience. Having both will be an added advantage.
  • Having both Traditional Media Management (TV] and Digital media experience
  • Digital deployment knowledge on key platforms like Facebook, Google and OTT is an added advantage as the candidate will work on integrated media strategy.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability
  • Influencing and communication skills
