CPL is an independent and non-partisan movement focused on advocating for progressive public policy in India. We aim to develop the next generation of public leaders who possess the right skills and the mindset required to shape the future of our country.
Through our programs we mobilise, engage and educate young citizens to unlock the true potential of a participatory democracy. CPL’s sole objective is to strengthen the capacity of our youth to take up leadership challenges in the public sphere.
THE CPL FELLOWSHIP
Citizens for Public Leadership (CPL) invites applications from young professionals and students for a 10 month part-time fellowship program. The CPL Fellowship is designed to impart knowledge in various thematic areas that fall under the umbrella of public policy such as – Media, Law, Economics, Politics, Foreign Policy, Indian History, Social and Urban Policy and Technology. CPL fellowship is conducted virtually with sessions on weekends.
Over the last 6 years, CPL Alumni have gone on to study at Harvard Kennedy School, London School of Economics, Columbia University, School of International & Public Affairs and other, started their own organisations and social initiatives. Many fellows have worked with a few organisations under CPL’s Capstone Project, while we have also mentored several other Alumni to start their non-profits.
CPL will charge fellows a nominal fee of Rs. 30,000 for the year-long program.

CAPSTONE PROJECT
The capstone aims to align fellows’ career paths in policy while enhancing sector knowledge. Deliverables include a research paper/blogs/podcast /documentary or any creative output (4000-5000 words) with mid-term progress in November, and final presentations in December.

FELLOW PROFILE
CPL is looking for fellows who have demonstrated the ability to make an impact in the domain of public policy in India and who we believe can use the learnings from the fellowship in synergy with their existing qualifications and experience to set the narrative for public policy in India. For this purpose, we are looking for fellows with strong leadership skills and a commitment to public service. Fellows will be expected to show utmost dedication to the program and complete all coursework and projects for the fellowship period of one year.
