Environment Communications Internship – Indicus Foundation

Indicus Foundation is a change-maker in the environment and sustainable livelihoods domain. We work with stakeholders, thought-leaders and implementers, planners and managers, technocrats and administrators, to help close the knowledge, skill, financial and institutional gaps that prevent change. We catalyze change through a three-pronged approach: Better monitoring, greater knowledge, and improved awareness. This is set within the framework of sustainable and inclusive growth. With these improved informational inputs we seek to enable a well-informed dialogue towards employment generating and environmentally sustainable policies.

What is the role? 

We are looking for final year or graduate and postgraduates from reputed institutions who would like to help build a globally recognized environment portal out of India. The position is for those who are interested in the environment, have experience in or have studied social communications, and can work out of home or from our premises in South Delhi. The is a 3-month internship which can be converted to a year-long fellowship based on exceptional performance. 

What would you be working on? 

You would be expected to be conversant with the basics of social communications, ethical practices, and requisite IT skills. Once trained, you would be assigned responsibility over specific tasks related to enhancing the content and quality of UnEarth.Live. This would include helping conceptualize and creating daily content on the environment and building partnerships with the different stakeholders in the domain. The objective is to rapidly enhance engagement and followers/subscribers of UnEarth.Live properties for greater awareness on environment issues. 

Who is eligible? 

• Graduates or final year students from reputed institutions in any field 
• Experience in or degree in Mass Communication 
• Good and demonstratable written and spoken English skills 
• Knowledge and experience in creating social network content 
• Familiarity with MS Office 
• Familiarity with editing images and videos using online software and portals 
• Experience in any of the creative arts would be an added advantage 
• Can work from home or at our premises in South Delhi 
• The monthly stipend for the interns is INR 10,000 and for the fellows is INR 20,000.
