ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Digital Equalizer (DE) envisions a world where all children from under-served communities, especially girls, are prepared for a career and life. The program is bridging India’s digital divide by providing and integrating technology into underperforming, under-resourced public schools, training teachers in techno-pedagogy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) methodology, and transforming classrooms into collaborative and interactive places for students to learn while preparing them for success in the 21st-century global economy. Targeting students most at risk of dropping out of school (grades 6-10), Digital Equalizer instills a love for learning in them. Since its inception in 2004, the  Program has empowered 8.14million children with interactive STEM experiences, trained 240,302 teachers in STEM pedagogy, and transformed 46,385 schools across 35 states and union territories of the country.

ABOUT PROJECT
The Digital Equalizer (DE) program stands as a prominent technology-driven education initiative by TLF. Its primary objective is to narrow the digital gap among students in underprivileged government schools in India, enabling them to not only adapt but actively engage in the digital economy. This Project strengthens the learning outcomes of 4,000 students (approx.) in the grade subjects of social, science and math across 20 schools using STEM Education, Digital Equalizer methodologies, centralized teacher training, 21st-century skills training and career awareness.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project officer will be responsible to lead the STEM initiative for the state. S/he will be deployed at the STEM Innovation and learning center being set up in the state education department. S/He will be responsible for overall project management and day to day coordination with the education department. High level of liaison and networking at the state and the district level will be required.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. The Project Officer will have the overall responsibility for the effective delivery of the STEM Innovation and Learning center.

2. Project Officer will be leading the STEM initiate in the state under the guidance of Director/commissioner of the concerned education department.

3. Project Officer will be responsible to manage TLF team (Training coordinators) on boarded under the project.

4. The Project Officer will be responsible for fulfilling the objectives and achieving desired outcomes of the project.

5. S/He will help the Department of Education in preparing SOP or policy on STEM education for the state.

6. The STEM Team Lead will be responsible for planning, scheduling and conducting state and district level training workshops for STEM master teachers trainers identified by the Education Department.

7. Project Officer shall be responsible for strategizing annual budget and its execution plan for STEM intervention, supervising operations and quality assurance, organizing trainings and workshops, overseeing monitoring & evaluation activities, monthly/regular reporting of the project progress & update, collation of best practices & learning of the project, undertaking state specific research/ impact for influencing change.

8. Project Officer must be able to think strategically to increase the reach of the project in the allocated state, work independently and author outputs of very high quality.

9. Act as a local ambassador of the ‘STEM initiative’ and ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct.

10. Other project activities as assigned by the Supervisor/ Reporting Position.

REQUIRED KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Post-graduation in Social Work/ Rural Management/ Social Sciences with 5 years of experience in executing development projects with government.

OTHERS:
Salary shall commensurate with experience.
