TERI – The Energy and Resources Institute A dynamic and flexible organization with a global vision and a local focus, TERI was established in 1974, with the initial focus on documentation and information dissemination. Research activities, initiated towards the end of 1982, were rooted in TERI’s firm conviction that efficient utilization of energy and sustainable use of natural resources would propel the process of development. All activities in TERI, the largest developing-country institution working towards sustainability, move from formulating local- and national-level strategies to shaping global solutions to critical issues. Buoyed by more than 50 years of excellence in research and innovation, TERI is now poised for future growth, driven by a global vision and outreach, with a philosophy that assigns primacy to enterprise in government, industry, and individual actions.
Youth Climate Conclave 5th Edition
To foster a community of young innovators dedicated to crafting solutions that mitigate the effects of climate change, the 5th edition of the ‘Youth Climate Conclave’ (YCC) is being convened. YCC is being held under the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership (CECP) project, financed and managed by the Delegation of the European Union to India. TERI has been implementing the YCC activity since 2019. This conclave with knowledge support from GIZ, CEEW, and Climate Fresk aims to serve as both a competition platform and a forum for education, uniting children and youth from across the country to collaborate in addressing climate change issues.
The conclave features a series of pre-event activities, including a youth photography competition, a two-day knowledge enrichment session aligned with TERI’s World Sustainable Development Summit 2025, and an exclusive educational excursion aimed at providing evidence-based learning to empower youth in combating climate change.
We are inviting children and youth in the age category of 10 – 18 years and 19 – 25 years of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, physical ability, or any other distinctions across India to participate in the photography competition.
Photography Competition:
The camera lens has the power to transcend words, capturing moments that evoke emotion, provoke thought, and inspire action. The YCC Photography Competition stands as a dynamic platform of significant importance in the global effort to raise awareness about climate change. The photographs to be taken by these young photographers will resonate powerfully with audiences worldwide, instilling a deep sense of urgency and responsibility that will cross linguistic and cultural boundaries. Additionally, these young photographers, skilled in digital technologies, will utilize digital and social media platforms to disseminate their message nationally and globally, engaging diverse audiences and initiating significant discussions about environmental awareness.
Task: Participants are required to submit photographs that capture the essence of positive climate actions in the country, including those by children and youth, related to Climate Change. All submissions should be original thought processes that elicit a positive opinion about how youth can channelize their energy and drive transformative impact in society.
Theme: Climate Action for the future we want!
Who can participate:
Recognition: Winners will receive e- certificates, a chance to attend the Youth Climate Conclave- 5th Edition and have a felicitation during the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2025. Besides these, all shortlisted photographs will be published on social media platforms, and the 12 best photographs will be selected and published in the YCC 2025 calendar.
