State Coordinator: Hasiru Dala

Hasiru Dala We are a social impact organisation that focuses on securing social justice for waste pickers through interventions co-created with waste pickers, in the areas of identity rights, access to employment, skill development, access to family education, healthcare, housing & other social security / entitlements. We are actively engaged in multi-tier policy advocacy.

Project Overview:
Hasiru Dala is partnering with seven organizations across five states: Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and Haryana to identify waste pickers. The goal is to effectively reach out to 14,000 waste workers and facilitate access to government schemes. The duration of the project is one year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with partner organizations to implement enumeration and social security for a specified number of waste pickers.
• Create a plan of action for the state and specific partners to complete the enumeration and social security for waste pickers.
• Train field staff to use the app, providing support and troubleshooting technical issues in collaboration with the Hasiru Dala team.
• Facilitate communication between Hasiru Dala and partner organizations.
• Monitor weekly and monthly reports and provide data in a prescribed format.
• Facilitate funder visits and Hasiru Dala team visits.

Requirements/Eligibility:

• Master’s degree in social work, social sciences, or arts.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Excellent coordination skills with partners.
• Understanding of data ethics and data privacy.
• Willingness to travel in Maharashtra and Delhi.
• Fluency in Hindi and English is mandatory.
