ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a unique and dynamic opportunity to pivot your career as a Business Development Manager for Dalberg Advisors across the Asia Pacific region. You will be working closely with our Global Managing Partner (GMP), who will serve as your mentor and coach throughout your journey. Think of this role as a two-year apprenticeship that offers you the chance to learn, grow, and demonstrate your proficiency in the field. After this period, there would be an opportunity to transition into a suitable strategic role as the candidate gains experience and demonstrates proficiency.

You are a dynamic and proactive professional, eager to take the lead in business development efforts across the APAC region. As a Business Development Manager, you thrive on driving growth and innovation. Your role involves driving business development strategies and proposals from start to finish, championing thought leadership, and spearheading internal initiatives.

Typical Qualifications of a Business Development Manager :

• We place no emphasis on the university you attended; what truly matters is your demonstrated track record of consistent excellence in academics and business endeavors.
• You have over 5 years of experience, showcasing a progressive track record in roles such as strategy consulting, business development, or similar fields. Experience in managing teams within a consulting environment is a plus.
• An ability to work across diverse sectors is essential. You must also showcase a strong desire for continuous learning and the capacity to rapidly grasp and master new topics through research.
• You thrive in unstructured, ambiguous environments and possess exceptional analytical skills, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Your capability to manage multiple threads, conduct thorough research and analysis, and build effective relationships is paramount.
• Proficiency in presenting information cogently, both in written and verbal forms, is mandatory. You must have a demonstrated ability to manage executive-level communications.
• You are adept at making high-quality presentations for both internal and external senior stakeholders with a minimum amount of supervision and iteration.
• You exhibit a self-starting attitude with a keen execution drive; resilient and adept at working autonomously in ambiguous scenarios. Showcased ability to introduce innovative programs, processes, and ideas.
• Adaptability and a willingness to undertake diverse tasks, maintaining flexibility in your approach, are crucial. You should also be proficient in cultivating strong and trusted working relationships across all levels both within and outside the organization.
• A genuine passion for international development, reflected in a strong interest and prior exposure to global issues such as economic development, global health, education, or the environment, is highly valued.
• Given the Global Managing Partner’s work across different time zones, this role will require a high degree of flexibility in timing.

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a vital role in driving the growth and success of our organization. Your responsibilities will include: .

• Supporting Comprehensive Business Proposals: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive business proposals for potential projects. Craft executive-level communications to effectively convey our value proposition.
• Research and Analytics: Conduct in-depth research and analysis, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making. Prepare impactful PowerPoint presentations for executive-level meetings and assist in facilitating workshops.
• Complex Problem Solving: Drive critical ad-hoc projects and solve complex problems to deliver substantial value to the firm and our clients.
• New Business Opportunities: Assist the Global Managing Partner in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities relevant to Dalberg. Develop frameworks and pitch documents leading up to client meetings.
• Project Management: Manage multiple workstreams, ensuring timely completion of processes and delivering rapid analysis when required. Document discussions and follow-ups with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
• Thought Leadership: Innovate and implement fresh approaches for thought leadership initiatives, positioning the organization as an industry leader.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with members of the Management team to expedite stakeholder decision-making.
• Priority Management: Oversee all open threads that are at risk of de-prioritization, ensuring they receive appropriate attention and resources.
