2. Program Associate
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time, exempt position. Inatai is proud to be a statewide organization and we know there are talented leaders everywhere in our state. As we grow and learn, we know that we are better partners to the community and more strategic Grantmakers when we have team members rooted in place and bringing their lived and learned experiences to our work. We are prioritizing the following geographies to ensure we are fully living up to our commitments to geographic equity.
- The Olympic Peninsula, with special attention to Jefferson, Clallam, and Grays Harbor counties
- North Central Washington, with special attention to Douglas, Chelan, Okanogan, and Kittitas counties
- North Eastern Washington, with special attention to Pend Oreille, Stevens, Ferry and Lincoln counties
In addition to these regions, we would like to give priority to Adams, Asotin, Cowlitz, Lewis, Mason, Skagit, Skamania, and Whitman counties.
We currently have offices in Seattle and Pasco. Team members connected to an office will work in the office at least three days per week. Team members not connected to an office will work remotely.
Periodic early morning, evening, and weekend hours will be required, and occasional statewide and regional travel should be expected. All employees participate in our offsite retreats, which often require travel and overnight stays.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide project coordination support for the Foundation’s Grantmaking funds, including scheduling, document tracking, drafting agendas, tracking notes and next steps, and ensuring the team meets its grantmaking deadlines
- Support email and phone correspondence with grantees as appropriate
- Provide project coordination support and on-site management for Grantmaking department events, including scheduling meetings, notetaking, tracking deadlines, drafting communication materials, and managing attendee correspondence
- Provide on-site support for internal Grantmaking meetings and retreats
- Support the Grantmaking team orientation process by completing intakes with the hiring manager, scheduling new staff orientations, training, and supporting a smooth introduction to the team
- Support drafting and editing for quarterly Grantmaking memos
- Use internal communication tools such as Teams, Outlook, and Sharepoint to support the Grantmaking department with updates, reminders, and overall information sharing
- Contribute one’s own ideas, perspectives, and lived experiences to the emerging culture of the Foundation
- Assume other responsibilities and explore new opportunities that arise with the evolving needs and aspirations of the Foundation
QUALIFICATIONS

COMPENSATION
In addition to a positive and flexible work culture, we attract, retain, and motivate exceptional people with an equitable and competitive compensation package. Salary ranges are set according to an explicit compensation policy, and relevant data are reviewed when setting ranges for each position. The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $87,000. A compensation enhancement is provided to employees with indigenous or advanced language proficiency in more than one language that they utilize to advance the Foundation’s work across Washington.

- Manage projects connected to the Target and Influence Funds portfolios and grantmaking strategies, ensuring that projects are high quality and meet organizational timelines
- Anticipate potential project management barriers and work with the team to resolve any obstacles to successful project completion
- Support scheduling and calendaring for Program Officers, including but not limited to drafting agendas, coordinating internal and external meetings, and moving documents through the approval process
- Organize and maintain the internal file management system
- Field electronic communications between the Target and Influence Funds team, internal stakeholders, external partners, and grantees
- Utilize the Foundation’s customer relationship management tool to create records and track grantmaking processes and payments to grantees
- Support logistics planning and on-site management for events
- Provide coordination support for events, including agenda development, scheduling, notetaking, and tracking deadlines and budgets
- Ensure that event set-up and execution run smoothly
