Job Description

  1. Develop, Direct and Approve implementation plans of Mechanical Maintenance activities of entire plant in order to ensure maximum plant availability for achieving production targets at optimum costs and enhanced safety.
  2. Improvement of OEE & MTBF of all the plant equipment’s. Reduction of MTTR of all equipment’s with clear vision of no repeat failure. Cultivate the concept of full safety at all working front in the plant. Improvement in productivity of our manpower.
  3. Monitoring and controlling the cost of Maintenance and capex. Monitoring and controlling of completion of all Capex jobs in time and budget.
  4. Ensure continuous operation & availability plant right from crusher, raw material handling, raw mills, kilns, cooler, cement mills, packing plant and jetty to achieve the budgeted production with utmost safety, optimum cost and power.
  5. Ensure qualitative and safe breakdown and shutdown maintenance. Carryout structural and equipment paintings all over the plant.
  6. Ensure implementation of safety standards across all the jobs undertaken.
  7. Execute modifications and CAPEX jobs relevant to department.
  8. Plant Availability: – Total Plant including Limestone Crusher, Raw Mill, Coal Mill, Kiln, Cooler, Utilities and Workshop as per requirement and satisfaction of internal customer. Monitor preventive maintenance schedule for implementation. – Arrange and monitor the health of the equipment’s through different Non Destructive Tests. -Review the weekly / major shutdown plans. – Analyse major breakdowns and plan corrective actions. – Interact with OEMs / Consultants for typical plant maintenance problems. – Facilitate and reorganize required manpower within the existing manpower available within the unit. – Recommend for taking contract labours from outside for major jobs. – Meet regularly internal customers to take feed back & communicate to concerned for corrective action. – Extending help required to internal customer. – Small modification/ alteration not covered in CAPEX.
  9. Plant Equipment Up gradation & Improvement: Study and recommend Capex jobs for equipment up gradation/ debottlenecking to improve plant availability and productivity. Identify the weak link Interact with OEMs / Consultants. Plan for revisions of specifications / drawings. Monitor, plan and motivate project team in execution.
  10. Cost Control : Control the cost of mechanical execution of allotted projects to avoid cost over run in the project. Develop Vendor for import substitution. Monitor & Guide for inventory reduction, Standardisation & Optimisation. Carryout life value analysis of repetitive breakdowns and high value spares. Identify & track key value drivers for maintenance cost reduction through monthly progress review meeting. Optimise Lubrication consumption. Ensure arrest of false air leakage. Identify cost effective alternate lubricant. Consolidate and forward annual requirement of spares for better purchase price. Control utilisation of contract manpower Andover time. Prepare budget. Monitor expenditure with respect to budget. To take corrective action. Avoid re-work on paper and site. Optimise use of steel & avoid wastages. Identify & use of surplus inventory available at stores. Monitor cost with budget.
  11. System Management:- Systems: Ensure implementation of ISO-9002, EMS-14001, OHSAS-18001, SA-8000 & WCM systems through the involvement of employees for improving plant performance and quality standards.- Organise & monitor implementation plan for: -Completion of strategic quality projects. -Attainment of quality improvement objectives. -Attainment of WCM criteria score. -Attainment of EMS targets. -Improvement of Internal customer rating. -Improvement in ISO system. -Safe working conditions and practices. -Statutory compliances. – Identify & formulate implementation plan for -New systems and best practices. -Focused Improvement Studies. -Clearing NCRs in time. – Improvement in OEE/MTBF/MTTR -Elimination of muda. -Conduct awareness programmes. -Participate in autonomous maintenance activities. -Develop one-point lessons. -Participate in why why /PM analysis of breakdowns. -Monitor WCM campaign activities. -Plan house keeping & get up activities. -Participate in WCM subcommittee activities. – Carry out internal audits.
  12. To facilitate department activities to implement, sustain and continual improvement of internal & external customer satisfaction score, developing & drive maintenance strategy along with autonomous maintenance, visual development, knowledge upgradation, process improvement.
  13. Ensuring respective assigned team performance & monitoring WCM (ABOF) MIS regular for 100% compliance against various WCM audits/assessments(5S,BCE, Hygiene etc.) & timely evaluation of Kaizen & suggestions in system
  14. To ensure timely compliance & implementation of IMS & other standards requirements like creating awareness among team on systems policy, implementation, document verification for zero non-conformity or OFIs in internal & External system audits/assessment.
  15. Mentoring & driving associated KFA & GRT as per the ABOE framework & CWCM guidelines
  16. Encouraging team for improvement projects & Kaizen to enhance performance & productivity along with bringing and adopting new technology projects & its development actions

11. KRA1 – Plant Availability for Stable Operation and Optimum Heat And Power Consumption

  • Daily meeting with CCR staff, PF and SH. For operational parameters for any abnormality or deviation, discussion with other department for corrective action.
  • Giving guide line for standard operating parameters.
  • Regular Check-in of False Air In System,
  • Doing Heat Balance With Tpmc, Calibration Of Equipment

KRA2 Quality Consistency:

  • Monitor & review production of clinker of consistent quality to maintain brand image and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor the test results.
  • Analyze the reasons for deviation.
  • Take correction action.
  • Review of quality of products.
  • Check process capability to meet new standards.
  • Take action to improve process capabilities.
  • Ensure testing & calibration of instruments for accuracy.

KRA3 Process budget to ensure for cost control and optimization of spare parts:
A) PRODUCTION DUDGET
B) S&S AND RPM

  • Review power and heat consumption,
  • Review raw mill, coal mill oup put with pre Clinkerization.
  • Cement mill out put with post Clinkerization.
  • Review s&s and rpm for further reduction.

KRA4 Plan Process Improvement/ Upgradation:

  • Plan & implement plant process improvements / up-gradations projects/ process parameters for new product, Environment, Safety, Productivity, Process Control & Quality.
  • Identify bottlenecks / Projects for improvements.
  • Analyze problems and Interact with OEM
  • Formulate proposal & seek approval – Check process capability.
  • Guide process optimisation.
  • Ensure implementation of plan and Monitor progress
  • Guide corrective actions
  • Process data flow measurement and analysis.
  • Set Targets for Thermal Substitution Rate and quantity of AFR in consultation with all concerned.
