1. Program Coordinator, Rise on Boards

Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract type: One year full-time, with possibility of contract renewal
Start date: As soon as possible
Location: Greater Toronto Area

Salary: $44,000 CAD + $50/month mobile stipend + $40/month internet stipend (as this position is funded by a restricted grant, the salary is fixed)

Vacation: Four weeks (20 days) paid vacation per calendar year, prorated for part years.

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Fora’s Rise on Boards program. Reporting to the Programs Manager, they will work closely with the Programs Team (Director of Programs and Advocacy, Advocacy Manager) and other staff members to ensure the efficient, empathetic, and excellent delivery of programming.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

Program Coordination

  • Coordinate the day-to-day logistics to ensure exceptional delivery of the Rise on Boards program and events.
  • Serve as the liaison and first point of contact to troubleshoot any logistical or participant interpersonal issues.
  • Provide a high-quality user experience for online learners using Fora’s Learning Management System.
  • Organize and coordinate outreach and recruitment campaigns for Rise on Boards.
  • Collaborate with steering committees and volunteers to support events and small-scale projects.
  • Conduct research, writing, and design for program documents.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to design and facilitate workshops for program participants and partners.
  • Work with the Programs Manager to develop and execute annual and monthly work plans.
  • Contribute strategically to Rise on Boards by documenting and reporting on learnings, best practices, and recommended improvements.

Organizational Support:

  • Provide coordination support for other programs and events.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, proposals, presentations, and other organizational documents.
  • Work with the communications team to coordinate external communications, including developing program-specific web and social media content.
  • Support the Development and Operations Officer in creating program-specific fundraising materials.
  • Contribute to the organizational annual and monthly work plans and Strategic Plan.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Having related education or work experience in youth and gender equality fields is an asset.
  • Demonstrated 1-2 years of program coordination experience in an employment or volunteer capacity.
  • Demonstrated 1-2 years of professional experience in fostering sound relationships and coordinating details of various stakeholders.
  • Sensitivity working with young women and gender-diverse youth from diverse communities.
  • Proficiency with social media, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, and other digital technologies (project management systems data management systems, customer relationship management systems and learning management systems).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent public speaking and group facilitation abilities.

Position Summary
The Program Manager is a key member of our Programs and Advocacy Team. The Program Manager is someone who is deeply committed to the vision laid out in the Fora’s Strategic Plan and who is eager to play an important role in our work to advance the full participation of young women and gender-marginalized youth in decision-making spaces and to change the status quo around the world. This position reports to the Director of Programs and Advocacy and currently has one direct report: the Rise on Boards Program Coordinator.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of programs and events, including the Rise on Boards program, Annual Leadership Forum, etc.
  • Support the Director of Programs and Advocacy on Global Summit-related events, including recruitment, training, project design, and a week-long summit.
  • Accurately maintains allocated program budgets and tracks expenditures.
  • Lead monitoring, measurement, evaluation, and reporting of program performance.
  • Lead program-related organizational partnerships and collaborations.
  • Lead in the development and execution of program-related communications materials and recruitment campaigns.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for program stakeholders including steering committees, boards, coaches, and mentors.
  • Serve as a point of contact following the program coordinator for program participants.

Organizational Support

  • Assist in the preparation of reports for Fora: Network for Change’s Board of Directors, Directors & CEO, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide insights into the overall program strategy of the organization.
  • Assist in writing grants for institutional donors, including government and foundations.
  • Assist in coordinating external communications, which includes collaborating with the

Communications team to develop web and social media content and working with the Fund and Development Officer to contribute content for newsletters.

Qualifications:

  • Having related education or work experience in youth and gender equality fields is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience of 3+ years in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs.
  • Demonstrated experience of 3+ years in budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability of 3+ years in fostering sound relationships with organizational stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
