Roles & Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of Tablet-Based Learning: Lead students in engaging and interactive tablet-based learning activities, fostering foundational literacy and numeracy skills and enhancing spoken English proficiency for students of grades 1 to 5.
  • Classroom Integration: Collaborate with teachers to seamlessly incorporate technology into the classroom, ensuring effective and innovative teaching strategies that utilize tablets to support learning outcomes.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Provide guidance and training to teachers and school heads on tablet management, digital literacy, and best practices in leveraging technology for enhanced teaching and learning.
  • Community Engagement: Organize and execute community mobilization initiatives to raise awareness and foster parental involvement in students’ education, promoting active engagement within the local community.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly assess student performance and maintain detailed records to track progress. Generate reports on student proficiency and program impact, contributing to program evaluation and improvement.
  • Spoken English Enhancement: Conduct weekly spoken English sessions, focusing on listening and speaking skills, implementing activities such as debates, storytelling, and performances, and provide individual feedback to students.
  • Student Agency Building: Encourage and empower students to take ownership of their learning journey by fostering agency and self-driven learning, motivating them to thrive in a rapidly changing educational landscape.
  • Continuously improving own practice through research, mentorship and self-created learning opportunities.
  • Communicating with and investing key stakeholders like the HM, teachers and parents into the vision for students.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Pedagogical Knowledge: Possesses a deep understanding of pedagogical principles and teaching methods to support students’ learning effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and community members.
  • Adaptability: Exhibits the ability to adapt to diverse educational environments and evolving student needs, staying current with educational technology and practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify learning gaps and develop suitable interventions.
  • Data Management: Proficient in managing, analyzing, and interpreting educational data to make informed decisions.
  • Educational Technology: Familiar with tablet-based learning tools and educational apps, with technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Digital Literacy: Competent in using digital devices, software, and tools for lesson delivery and learning support.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
  • Learning Management Systems: Experienced in online learning platforms and learning management systems.
  • Leadership and Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrates leadership skills in modelling effective teaching practices, facilitating training, collaborating with education stakeholders, and deep subject matter expertise in foundational literacy, numeracy, spoken English, and educational equity.

Competencies and Abilities

  • Academic Achievement: Ensure students achieve target proficiency levels in foundational literacy (English) and numeracy, tracking and reporting progress regularly.
  • Spoken English Proficiency: Improve students’ oral language skills, increasing the percentage of students demonstrating proficiency in spoken English.
  • Teacher and Headmaster Capacity Building: Provide training and support for teachers and school headmasters in effectively integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Community Engagement: Enhance community involvement in students’ education by organizing awareness campaigns, mobilization activities, and enrolment drives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor the academic progress of students, providing interventions as needed to bridge learning gaps.
  • Resource Utilization: Effectively manage tablets and educational resources, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
  • Sustainability: Work towards program sustainability by involving teachers and parents in the learning process and fostering long-term engagement with schools and communities.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate / B.Ed.
  • Minimum 2-4 Years of Experience.
  • Languages: Strong in English & Tamil.
