What is the Project?
Citizens Alliance is implementing a project by the Government of West Bengal for building a comprehensive grievance redressal system to enable a transparent, accountable, responsive environment for the public services delivery system under the state-sponsored welfare schemes. This shall be done by setting up a “Dedicated Call Centre for Monitoring of Program Implementation & Grievance Cell” along with Field Validation Units across all 23 districts of West Bengal.

Objective of the Project
Citizens Alliance aims to build a direct line of communication between the people and highest authority of the State, Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal. The primary objective would be to provide a platform where people’s concerns are heard, registered, and taken up with the State Grievances cell for resolution. The unit shall be instrumental in securing active people’s participation by establishing direct two-way communication between the state government and the public. It will take inputs from people with the objective of transforming them into actionable insights. The data collected will help to identify problem areas in which policy level and procedural adjustments can be undertaken by the Government of West Bengal.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Field Officer to join our team. The Senior Field Officer will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the Sorasori Mukhyamontri program. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication skills, a deep understanding of local governance, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities of the Field Executives

  1. Field Operations: Lead and coordinate field operations, including data collection, community engagement, and monitoring of program activities in designated areas.
  2. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with local government officials, community leaders, and program partners to ensure alignment and support for Sorasori Mukhyamontri initiatives.
  3. Data Management: Collect and manage data related to program activities, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  4. Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for Field Executives (FEs) to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  5. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities and challenges to the concerned Reporting Manager. Maintain accurate records and documentation of field activities and interactions.
  6. Communication and Language Proficiency: Crisp, incisive and in depth understanding of communication. Excellent proficiency in Bengali, Hindi and English.
  7. Technical Skills: Strong technical skills and proficiency in MS Office is mandatory.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with program guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a Tier 1 University. Masters preferred.
  • Proven experience in field operations, community engagement, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of local governance and government processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and work in rural areas.
  • Fluency in Bengali, Hindi and English
  • Proficient in MS Office

Eligibility Criteria

1) Age: Maximum of 30 years as on 1st January of the year of application.

2) Qualification: Should have a Graduate Degree. Post Graduate preferable.

3) Language Skills: Good oral & written skills with working proficiency in English and Bengali. Knowing Hindi or Nepali will be an advantage.

4) Experience: Minimum experience of 1 year in dealing with the public either as a journalist or any other profession.

5) Transport: Having a two-wheeler vehicle with a valid driving license for conveyance is mandatory

6) Technical Knowledge: Fluency in working with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel), emails and other internet tools.

7) Field Knowledge: The person must have willingness to travel everyday and have an excellent knowledge of their local geography.

Remuneration: 50,000/- monthly with a 20% variance

Duration of Contract: This is a paid full time position.
