Lighthouse Communities Foundation works in the area of skilling and livelihoods for underserved youth. This is a pioneering program with a strong PPP model, an agency-led approach to livelihoods and a vision of socio-economic transformation. The Lighthouses are run through a public-private partnership that empowers the Government, Corporates, NGOs and Citizens to work together towards changing lives. The provision of location and capital expenditure for the Lighthouse centres is taken care of by the Government. Corporates contribute through CSR funds to provide operational expenses. NGOs come on board to provide various skilling courses to the youth. With penetration in more than 400 of the 500 odd slum communities of Pune, the program has now expanded to other cities viz. PCMC, Dombivali, Aurangabad and also States viz. Delhi, Odisha and in Hyderabad.

1. Manager – Job First program

About the project:

Role overview:
The Manager for the Job First Program is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of the program, with a focus on empowering youth accessing employment opportunities and gaining essential job skills.

This role involves strategic planning, program development, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring program outcomes.

Your role to supplement the Organisational goals:

  • Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for the Job First Program, aligning it with the LCF mission and goals.
  • Identify target communities or groups that could benefit from the program’s services.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive program plan to provide job training, placement services, and career development support.
  • Build partnerships with local employers, vocational training institutions and other relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with these partners to create job opportunities and ensure program success.
  • Develop outreach strategies to identify and engage youth.
  • Assess the needs and barriers of program participants and provide tailored support.
  • Facilitate job placement for the youth including resume building, interview preparation, and job matching.Counselling candidates on job opportunities and career building.
  • Provide ongoing support to placed individuals to ensure job retention and career advancement.
  • Address any workplace challenges or barriers placed youth may encounter.
  • Constant research on job trends to gather specific information about employers requirements.
  • Regularly attend meetings with employers and build relationships on the basis of feedback.
  • To initiate a job first program at specific locations.
  • Maintain close liaison with relevant industry government bodies.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors.
  • Use data to continuously improve program effectiveness.

Who we are looking for:

  • Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in a social work field.
  • Experience: 7-8 years of experience in workforce development, job placement, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of employment and training programs, vocational education and job market trends.
  • In-depth understanding of the livelihood sector and programs especially programs on employability.
  • Well informed of labour market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing high quality and innovative employment programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Proficiency in the English language is a must.
  • Strong project management and program development skills.

  • Willing to travel extensively to and within project locations.

Role overview:
The Senior Manager – Instructional Design is responsible for leading the design and development of educational content and materials to support the Lighthouse programs and initiatives. This role involves strategic planning, curriculum development, and ensuring that instructional materials align with organizational objectives as well as collaborating with multiple stakeholders to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

Your role to supplement the Organisational goals:

a. Strategic Planning:.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align instructional design strategies with the LCF mission and objectives.

b. Curriculum Design & Development:

  • Collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and goals for the respective program.
  • Design and develop curriculum, lesson plans, and educational materials that align with program objectives.
  • Lead the design and development of comprehensive curriculum and learning pathways.
  • Ensure that instructional content is engaging, learner-centred, and aligned with established learning objectives.

c. Instructional Design Strategies:

  • Utilise instructional design models and methodologies to create effective learning experiences.
  • Select appropriate instructional technologies and tools to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Incorporate active learning, problem-solving, and interactive strategies into educational materials.

d. Content Creation:

  • Develop multimedia content, including written materials, presentations, videos, e-learning modules, and assessments.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality educational resources, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintain and update educational content as needed to reflect current knowledge and best practices.

e. Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Develop assessment and evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Analyse data and feedback to make data-driven improvements to instructional materials and methods.

f. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with program managers, centre teams and external partners to align educational content with program goals.
  • Engage with beneficiaries and communities to gather input and feedback on educational materials.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with other organizations, educational institutions, and experts in relevant fields.

g. Budget and Resource Management: Manage the budget for instructional design projects, including resource allocation and cost control.

h. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure that instructional materials meet quality standards and are compliant with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct quality reviews of educational content and provide guidance for improvements. i. Technology and Innovation:
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and e-learning.

Who we are looking for:

  • Education: Masters Degree in Instructional design, education or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years experience in instructional design and curriculum development, with a focus on education and training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Instructional design models, learning theories,e- e-learning platforms and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency in assessing learner needs and designing appropriate instructional strategies and assessments.

3. Communications Head

Role overview:
The Communication Head will be responsible for developing and executing Marketing and Communication strategies to promote the LCF mission as well as programs. This role involves conceptualizing, creating, and producing engaging content, managing online and offline marketing campaigns, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and monitoring the LCF brand image.

Your role to supplement the Organisational goals:

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies for all its stakeholders and be responsible for its planning and execution and managing the annual communications budget along with the Domain Head, CEO, and Finance team.
  • Create and manage high-quality content for various channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and reports.
  • Create and implement the brand guidelines including signage and collaterals for all programs run by LCF
  • Collaborate and work closely with various teams at LCF to identify and execute strategies and tools to tell compelling stories to enable social change. Manage central, pan-organization communications as well as work with state-level teams to identify talking points and conceptualize and execute communication products including write-ups, case stories, social and digital media products, press coverage, newsletters, etc.
  • Prepare press releases, statements, and media kits for relevant events and initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of marketing and communication professionals or volunteers.
  • Supporting the fundraising team by creating communications collateral such as presentations, write-ups, briefs, social media posts, and online/offline campaigns.
  • Pitch the LCF work and credentials for awards and recognition, by identifying suitable awards and proactively applying for the same.

Who we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or arelated field. Master’s  degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience of 8- 10 years in marketing and communication roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Hands-on experience in content production and management with excellent copywriting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of SEO, analytics, and content management systems.

4. Trainer – Office Executive

Reporting To: Manager – Skilling

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting an Office Executive training program at the respective Lighthouse.
  • Engage in designing and developing the curriculum framework and day-wise lesson plans/ activities.
  • Responsible for providing a daily attendance sheet, and highlighting to the respective Centre Heads and skilling team about the absenteeism of students.
  • Should adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure Document for In-House Courses regarding the expected deliverables from the trainer.
  • Required to give a weekly “student-wise Progress Report” which comprises pre, mid & post evaluation reports in which progress is tracked against stated improvement areas, per student.
  • LCF and Trainer will mutually agree on specific work-skill competencies mapped to the skilling course being undertaken. Students will be rated for those competencies by the Trainer, at the end of the course.
  • Responsible for providing the batch-wise report at the end of course with components like total number of students enrolled/dropped/completed course, attendance report, progress report,etc.
  • The Trainer needs to update all the Lighthouse student details on only Online Platform, along with all relevant information like Daily attendance marked, Actual activity for the day against planned activity for the day, uploading of Pre and Post assessments as well as Mid Tests to be uploaded and any other requirements.
  • Trainer needs to maintain a back-up attendance sheet which needs to be shared with LCF on a regular basis.
  • During the training, if the Trainer feels that there are few students who require more attention, then the same should be brought to the notice of the Skilling Manager, LCF. In that case, Trainer and the Skilling Manager will mutually formulate methods for special handholding of the student/s for the skilling course.
  • The Trainer shall have to coordinate with the placement team to conduct placement orientation sessions as per the schedule agreed.
  • The Trainer shall have to coordinate with the students and support them in applying for appropriate job opportunities, preparing for interviews, counseling the students during the placement process and any other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for sharing updates in review meetings on training effectiveness, reporting, skilling and placements to the Senior Management.
  • Providing information to the Skilling Manager in advance if the Trainer is unavailable for conducting class/es due to any reason or keeping the batch on hold, merging of batches, or making a change in batch schedule.
  •  Any other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Who we are looking for:

  • Education : Any Graduate / Post Graduate / MBA
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years required with 2 years of industry experience, preferably in administration/
    sales and marketing/ HR/customer support/ BPO,etc.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience is mandatory in training either in Corporate or in Non Profit organization
    in online/offline mode preferably to the age group of 18-30 years
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel) and
    Google docs.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate in Hindi, English and regional language with students.
  • Ability to train, coach and mentor youth on soft skills,workplace behavior,interview preparation.
  • Passionate about training and mentoring youth.
  • Good administrative skills required
  • Skilled in training on an online platform, using google classroom, google drive, etc.
  • Travel within the city required

5. English Trainer/Facilitator

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting the English skill training for the new students at the assigned Lighthouse.
  • Classroom delivery of English content to improve students job readiness.
  • Conduct timely student assessments.
  • Providing individual feedback and mentorships to students.
  • Timely reporting back on the progress of training at the Lighthouse to the Master Trainer.
  • Contribute the ideas to improve teaching methodologies.
  • Sharing training reports as and when required.
  • Supporting the rest of the team members as and when required.

Preferred Skill sets, Years of Experience, Professional Background:

  • Post Graduate or Graduate in English/Journalism/Mass communication / linguistics or in any field, with 1-2 years of experience preferably in English training or teaching.
  • Must be an energetic individual who loves interacting with students from all walks of life.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills.
  • Ability to conduct a batch of 25 to 30 students.
  • Strong and empathetic behavior
  • Ability to build a strong cultural system and be a role model for the youth/students
