Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) www.sesta.org is a professionally managed,  non-governmental, not-for-profit organization initiated by a group of young professionals  engaged in different parts of North-East India. The name SeSTA is pronounced ‘Chesta’ and  means ‘Effort’ in Assamese. It was begun with the idea of enhancing the capabilities of  vulnerable communities by creating a just and equitable society devoid of poverty and  identity-related crises, and by promoting and strengthening institutions in the north-eastern region of India. SeSTA’s mission is to catalyse inclusive and sustainable development in the  North-East region of India by enhancing the capabilities of the rural communities.

1. Executive-Human Resource Management (HRM)

Eligibility: Candidates having MBA in HR or MSW in HR with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the  last qualifying exam.

Age Limit: The age limit for applying is 32 years.

Experience required: Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resource Management in the  Development Sector only.

Salary/Pay: Negotiable (as per years of relevant experience)

Skills we are looking for:

  • Communication and interpersonal skills, Good at storytelling and articulation,

  • Good creative writing and content development skills
  • Drive to achieve growth, willingness to push hard, ability to get things done, take fast  decisions and resolve the matters
  • Good Understanding and experience of sustainable livelihoods promotion and  working with women collectives
  • Good with numbers and Data, analytical thinking, and creating smart strategies based  on analysis
  • Competent at MS Excel, Power Point and other office tools
  • Proficient in English and local languages, Documentation and presentation skills:  Verbal, Written and IT

2. NRM Technical Expert

Eligibility: Having an educational qualification in civil engineering/agriculture  engineering/environmental engineering/ Diploma in civil engineering/Master in  Geography/Ecology/Environmental Science at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in last qualified  exams. Candidates from minority and tribal community, female, persons with disabilities and  LGBTQi+ are encouraged to apply

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the desired fields engaging in Natural Resource  Management, with NGOs, Civil Societies, and Govt. depts. For those candidates having Diploma at  least 3 years of work experience in the requisite fields is required.

Job Description:

  • Technical Professional will work under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the  Project Lead. The incumbent will have the following responsibilities.
  • Prepare and design plan for Natural Resource Management implementation at the project  area.
  • Facilitate Community Participation while designing the NRM Plan at the project villages.
  • Conduct Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercises at villages and Assist the Project  lead for the consolidation of the Plan.
  • Provide inputs for preparing GIS Plan/ validate GIS plan on Ground.
  • Facilitate Layout plans and execute the completion of the Plans
  • Actively participate in the GPDP meetings at block level.
  • Actively work closely with the MGNREGA cell Block/district level
  • Actively work to create awareness about rights and entitlements on MGNREGS
  • Assist Project Lead, to prepare technical progress reports of MGNREGS and other reporting  requirements.
  • Train and provide handholding support to field functionaries of CSOs during estimation,  implementation and closure of IBS schemes and other schemes under MGNREGS in selected  VCDCs/Panchayat of the blocks.
  • Closely work with the PRIs, community institutions.
  • Facilitate training to stakeholders on NRM planning & implementation
  • Support to plan and prepare estimates for stakeholders.
  • Any other works assigned by the project lead/organization.
  • Should be a team player.

Salary/Pay: 35,000 to 40,000/month based on relevant experience

Nature of job: Both the positions will be a field-based work and will need extensive traveling to  rural areas. Selected candidates will have to stay in villages for village stay and village study as part  of their training and after completion of village study they may be posted in any of our project areas  of Assam.

3. Executive (MIS & MEL)

Place of Posting: Guwahati, Assam

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deploying IT tools extensively within organization to ease access to information, effective reporting, and  transparency
  • Helping the organization access data from the field, and process the information to serve as inputs for decision making at different levels of the organization
  • Undertaking field studies, engaging in action research, and contributing to the organization’s pool of  knowledge and practice
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
  • Develop and implement data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency
  • Travel to the field locations as and when required

Qualities we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability for critical thinking and creativity around complex data
  • Having a systematic and logical approach to problem-solving
  • Good knowledge of Data Analytical Tools such as SPSS, Atlas is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in MIS or M&E.

Eligibility:

Education: B.E/B.Tech, MTech/MCA/MSc. with 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST and OBC) in the last qualifying exam. Women  candidates are encouraged to apply.
