This role sits in the Storytelling team, a team of digital, content, comms and events experts responsible for catalysing global urgent optimism through our ability to story tell, engage, educate and entertain.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Head of Events Maternity cover will work closely with the Director of Events and Experiences and the Events team to deliver the annual Earthshot Prize Awards and supporting events in November 2023, as well as planning and delivering the fourth annual awards ceremony in 2024.
The Head of Events Maternity Cover will be responsible for assisting in the development of detailed operational plans; including key timelines, event budgets, and coordinating activity with multiple stakeholders. They will manage two full time members of the events team, in addition to freelancers at busy times.
They will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills, and will hold day to day relationships with senior individuals from a range of parties, ensuring all those involved feel part of one aligned team. The appointed individual will be an experienced event professional.
The role will be a fixed term from August 2023 to November 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Director of Events and Experiences to manage and deliver an agreed programme of events for Singapore 2023, as well as other ad hoc events to support the Prize process over the year.
- Provide input to the event programme conception and delivery strategy for 2023 and 2024.
- Produce detailed event plans and budgets covering all logistics for example branding and event materials, programming, seating, content production, catering, tech, staging, guest experience, red carpet management etc.
- Work with multiple internal and external stakeholders on guest list management.
- Managing and updating detailed project plans with the internal team.
- Planning arrangements for The Earthshot Prize President, Prize Council Members and VIPs.
- Manage relationships with key production stakeholders, including delivery partners and agencies.
- Liaise with venues and other suppliers, ensuring they meet required levels of sustainability.
- Brief in and oversee the design & development of key event materials such as invitations and event programmes.
- Ensure that all components surrounding the planning and delivery of the awards and other events set a new precedent for sustainable and green events.
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering high-profile events with high levels of media attention.
- Experience working on both B2B and B2C events of varying sizes.
- Experience working on events based globally across different countries/continents and therefore proficient working across multiple time zones.
- Strong experience of working closely with multiple stakeholders and partners to deliver events.
- Experience of working with a number of high-profile individuals, so discretion and professionalism are paramount to an applicant’s success.
- Experience of leading a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of delivering sustainable and environmentally friendly events.
- Direct line managing and developing junior team members.
