About Labhya Foundation
Labhya Foundation is an India-based nonprofit that enables children from low socio-economic backgrounds with the necessary skills to cope with the ill-effects of poverty & become lifelong learners through Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs at scale. Labhya has co-created & ensures the effective implementation of the World’s largest & India’s first SEL interventions, namely ‘Happiness Curriculum’ & ‘Anandam Pathyacharya’ with the Governments of Delhi & Uttarakhand, respectively. Currently, Labhya impacts 2.4 Million+ students, 220,000+ teachers in 20,000+ schools daily through its government partnerships.
About the Role
As Labhya Foundation continues to expand and work with more partners, including state governments, multilateral organizations, and nonprofits working at scale, we are looking to have a State Lead on our team. We are in the initial stages and want to build a strong team while ensuring the team’s personal growth. Our programs have been running for a few years now. We are looking for someone who contextualizes and designs evidence-based, creative, and scalable SEL programs to enable children to become lifelong learners alongside maintaining government relationships. This role will include partnership management with various stakeholders, particularly the education department of the Delhi government, overall planning & implementation of the entire program, contextualizing curriculum framework wrt a particular geographical region, and elements of evaluation.
We expect the following from you for this role:
*All the below-mentioned tasks would be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.
- Maintain and build new relationships and strengthen existing relationships with state and district/block level government officials in Delhi.
- Develop a strong working relation with mentor teachers and happiness coordinators of as many schools as possible
- Support Labhya in the development of strong relationships and documentation of the on-ground impact by periodically visiting schools where our programs reach.
- Act as an anchor of intervention between Delhi government officials and Labhya’s Curriculum & Training team. Liaison and coordination with the concerned government officials regularly
- Represent Labhya to its multilateral partners, if needed, conduct meetings to strengthen existing and form new relationships.
- Support in planning & implementation of the entire program and be the point of contact for all matters related to this program.
- Facilitate teacher training sessions to build capacity and prepare detailed training modules (develop interactive lesson plans/activities for different training programs) for their clarity
- Document and communicate the research and SEL-related gaps/stressors that the partner state (Delhi) faces.
- Conduct pre & post-assessments to review, update, and improve curriculum based on feedback from partner organizations, teacher/client facilitators
- Contextualize curriculum wrt different geographies and socio-cultural contexts
- Working alongside the Curriculum design team and other teams of Labhya to ensure effective implementation of programs in Delhi.
- Working alongside the Monitoring & Evaluation Team at Labhya to iterate the program to achieve maximum impact.
- Support in forming a team for the state and manage the human resource capital that may join Labhya Foundation in Delhi.
- Support any requests that may come from time-to-time from the Happiness Team of Delhi government.
Qualifications & Skills / Experience / Characteristics
- Bachelors/Masters in education, social science, or equivalent
- At least 3-5+ years of experience in teacher training programs and facilitation.
- Prior experience of working with government and education departments in Delhi is preferred.
- On-ground experience with children and youth. (non-negotiable)
- An understanding of Social Emotional Learning, mental health, psycho-social development psychology will be preferred.
- Interest in curriculum design and setting up state-level teams to create maximum impact.
- Fluent in both Hindi & English (Written and spoken)
- Willingness to relocate to Delhi. (non-negotiable)
- Comfortable with logistical event planning.
- Possesses strong relationship building, communication, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in managing multiple stakeholders for projects.
- Ability to handle multiple projects/ tasks and experience in handling processes end to end
- Ability to solve problems using particular lenses, best practices, and frameworks.
- Working proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slide, etc
- Willingness to learn and grow together with the team.
Compensation
Remuneration will be based on competency, and we will be building Labhya together. The salary range for this role will be 9 lakhs per annum, to begin with. The final amount will be decided mutually during the recruitment process. We are offering to work together on something that has never been done before.
