Senior Program Officer, Strategy & Partnerships Development – PATH

PATH is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, and development sector enthusiast to be a part of the Strategy and Partnerships Development team and operate in a dynamic and evolving environment. The individual will contribute to the talent pool of PATH that is diverse and energetic and contribute to a growing portfolio of impactful work in public health. The individual will get an opportunity to engage and collaborate with leading public health professionals, implementers, policy makers, and partners within and outside of PATH. She/he will witness innovative solutions and approaches being implemented for large scale impact in public health. The individual will report to the Lead, Strategy, Partnerships Development and Communications, South Asia. Key responsibilities will be to provide support on activities including, but not limited to developing organizational strategy and growth plans, supporting partnerships development discussions, creating concept notes and proposals, decks, and program strategy documents for PATH South Asia programs. She/he will be part of PATH South Asia’s Strategy, Partnerships Development team that is a shared service and caters to all program divisions including, Family Health, Infectious Diseases, Vaccine Innovation and Access, Technology, Innovations and Systems, and Digital Health. The geographical footprint for PATH South Asia includes India, Nepal,
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.

Responsibilities

  • Partnerships Development
  • Identify and anchor new opportunities (with traditional and non-traditional donors) to position PATH and expand the existing donor database.
  • Lead dialogue/partnership with donors/funders, international non-profit organizations, academic institutions, consulting organizations for potential partnerships for PATH South Asia.
  • Undertake strong secondary research to identify materials contributing to the development of concept notes and proposals.
  • Lead proposal development process and support program teams in coordinating with PATH internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and support meetings with potential donors/funders, leveraging background research on meeting participants and organization focus areas.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other cross cutting teams at PATH, including Communications, Business Performance and Knowledge Management teams.

  • Closely work with Program Divisions to brainstorm ideas for continued growth and sustained impact.
  • Contribute to internal Strategy development and implementation exercises.
  • Anchor partnership and positioning opportunities for PATH in South Asia
  • Create and update program strategy documents and decks.
  • Attend relevant workshops and conferences for positioning PATH as and when required.
  • Conduct landscape analysis for new focus areas to expand PATH’s footprint.
  • Contribute to Strategy team’s monthly newsletter.

Required skills and experience

  • 7-10 years’ of work experience.
  • Master’s degree in management/economics/development studies/public health from a top tier institute.
  • 5+ years of experience working with a business/strategy consulting firm.
  • Work experience with a blend of business consulting and with international organizations will be preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in fund raising, especially with global funders will be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social impact and public health sector is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of donor landscape and existing networks with key public health donors is desirable.
  • Previous experience in developing organizational fundraising and utilization plan, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated skills in balancing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proven effectiveness while working in a team-based environment, but capable also of working independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a complex environment.
  • Comfort with collaborating across all levels of leadership internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent command over MS Office applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent in written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, coordination, supportive supervision, and monitoring.

Must have legal authorization to work in India.
