Slam Out Loud Founded by Harvard, NUS & Teach for India Alumni, Slam Out Loud is a non-profit in India, transforming Arts Education and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Our mission is to bring the power of arts to 20M children by 2025 and transform the art period into a space where all Indian children can find their voice through creative expression.

Slam Out Loud works with teachers, field experts and professional artists to create curriculum resources, design and implement programmes that help children build Creative Confidence skills (creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, self-esteem, and empathy) through art forms such as visual arts, poetry, storytelling and theatre.

Our online and offline programmes have so far reached more than 5 million children in 18 countries and 23 Indian states. Our work has been recognised by the OECD, World Bank and UNESCO and our partners include UNICEF, GirlRising, HP and Nilekani Philanthropies.

We are looking for a Partnerships Sr. Manager

A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Partnerships Sr. Manager should be a world-class writer and communicator. Your role will involve engaging with individuals and large institutional national and international funders who support SOL and our vision.

As a Partnerships Sr. Manager, you are expected to:

Partner engagement:

  • Grow Slam out Loud’s annual budget to over $1 Million by 2025
  • Identify, source, pursue and convert high-value partnership opportunities through inbound leads, follow-ups and outbound cold calls and emails, along with proactively developing a pipeline to record current and potential partners
  • Our existing partners include Girl Rising, Rainmatter Foundation, Rohini Nilekani
  • Philanthropies and HP. Your role would involve researching potential partners, and collaborating with the senior leadership team to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relations
  • Nurture partner relationships in a way that exemplifies SOL’s core values
  • Oversee and organize events that include, but are not limited to, partner check-ins, annual feedback meetings, field trips and timely updation

Fund Development:

  • Prepare at least 10 grant applications, proposals, presentations, and pitches that amplify the work and vision at SOL per quarter
  • Upsell existing funders to renew and scale their commitments to Slam Out Loud
  • Initiate and source leads to enable strong partnerships with national and
    international family foundations, CSR organizations and global agencies

Learning, Developing and Experimenting with SOLmates:

  • Lead interns and other volunteers to ensure timely completion of processes such as keeping all proposals and documents up to date on the team site as well as smooth day-to-day operations
  • As appropriate, participate in and lead programme processes such as events, partner visits and other operations

Commitment

  • The position is a full-time role requiring a commitment of at least 1.5-2 years, based anywhere in India. The role will require a willingness to travel to different geographies as per need
  • The Partnerships Sr. Manager will join the CEO and the Partnerships Associate to grow the donor and partnerships portfolio and raise organisational funds
  • This Partnerships Sr. Manager role will grow into a Director of Partnerships role in 1-3 years with the scope of defining the strategy for SOL partnerships jointly with the CEO and leading its implementation across multiple cities

What you will need

Mindset, skills and knowledge:

  • World-class writing, editing, presentation and communication skills
  • Possess proficiency in the MS Office toolkit such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Possess excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Be able to use data to drive decisions
  • An understanding of budget preparation and resource allocation
  • Be able to source new leads through own network, primary and secondary research
  • Have an eye for details, be able to spot grant opportunities
  • Be able to communicate the impact and details of programs to new and diverse audiences
  • Be proficient in G Suite, MS Office and Slack

Education and Experience:

We believe that reaching our vision demands that we have the brightest group of leaders working to lead the movement of arts in education. Here are some preferred
qualifications we look for:

  • At least 3-4 years of work experience in relevant fields
  • Prior experience in business development, non-profit development, partnerships
    and donor management is desirable
  • Experience with any of the arts/art-based organizations would be an added
    advantage

Compensation:7 -12 L per annum, commensurate with skill and experience
