We are looking for a top-performing, creative, and committed communications consultant with a passion to influence the global development agenda through strategic communication and partnership building, campaign work, community mobilization, and event facilitation. Our new team member will be based in India, New Delhi, or National Capital Region, to help support and grow our project portfolio, spanning various areas and clients, such as governments, ministries, international corporations, global foundations, and civil society initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Our consultants play leading roles in research and analysis, stakeholder mapping, outreach, and management, as well as project conceptualization and delivery. Your responsibilities will quickly grow with performance. Previous project engagements span across designing and facilitating multi-stakeholder convenings in e.g., Singapore, China, India, Denmark, and the US; producing creative content in print and online to amplify key messages on pressing global development issues; and creating and executing communication and advocacy strategies for private and public clients at the national and global level.

Across all projects, you will work closely with colleagues on all levels and interact directly with our clients and partners nationally and internationally. We prioritize your individual learning journey and will carefully nurture your professional growth via mentoring and tailored project work. Working at Dalberg Media, you will have access to monthly check-ins with your designated mentor, enabling you to scope your short and long-term goals and establish ways of implementing them throughout your project work.

Dalberg Media has offices in Copenhagen and Nairobi. You will become part of our team in India and help grow our presence locally and across Asia.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Contribute to the on-going strategic development of Dalberg Media’s project portfolio through participating in different business development activities, including working on business development proposals and proactively identifying and engaging with private, public, and civil society partners within the sector
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on global development issues and innovation trends to support communication strategies, advocacy, campaigns, and event work
  • Utilize your creative mindset to conceptualize innovative ideas in close collaboration with project managers to build internal projects from the ground up and contribute towards company’s expansion strategy
  • Prepare pitch materials and project deliverables in various formats for internal and external use
  • Participating in meeting activities and ongoing dialogues with partners and clients
  • Work and take ownership of different workstreams within active projects

ABOUT YOU
You will have a solid profile in communication and/or innovation, and client management. You are experienced within global development and sustainability and possess excellent writing, research and analytical skills, and a creative mindset to help us ideate, create, and implement projects. You are a proactive individual who enjoys initiating conversation around development and innovation, as well as establishing new connections and partnerships. You are motivated by promoting the use of innovative thinking to advance sustainable development. You are strategic in your approach to problem-solving but are also pragmatic and able to implement in practice. You have some experience working with stakeholders across sectors and/or geographies and possess a readiness to challenge established agendas to maximize social impact. You are able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and handle high pressure and pace work environment.

Our ideal candidate’s general qualifications include:

Excellent academic qualifications, e.g., a bachelor, master or advanced degree in Communications, Development, Innovation, Social Sciences or related fields

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar organization or capacity
  • Creative mindset and an ability to conceptualize, scope and build new initiatives
  • Strong analytical and methodological competencies, as well as excellent writing, research and analytical skills
  • A passion for communication, innovation, and/or event organization, typically evidenced by prior exposure to and experience with the field
  • Based in either New Delhi or National Capital Region, with ability to work out of our client’s office in Gurugram for 3 days a week for the next year or so
  • Experience from consulting / advisory sector Preferable
  • Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro Preferable
  • Experience working in WordPress and Squarespace Preferable
  • Fluency in written and oral English
  • Authorization to work in India Required
