The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in India, is a global research centre co-founded by Nobel laureates Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee. J-PAL’s mission is to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy making is based on scientific evidence, and research is translated into action.
J-PAL South Asia’s “Remote Care for Remote Areas” project is looking for an intern, based out of Patna, to assist in the implementation of an evaluation through a large-scale RCT evaluating a telehealth program in remote villages in Bihar. The project’s Principal Investigators leading the research are Prof. Erika Deserranno, Prof. Andrea Guariso and Dr. Amanda Dahlstrand. The role would require regular co-ordination with an extensive field team in a currently ongoing evaluation, interacting with on-ground Community Health Workers, design and track research elements and survey questionnaires. The intern would also assist with the analysis and insights into the data being collected. The work would also include organizing online or in person policy events such as training and research results dissemination.
