India Science Book Fellowship – FAST India

FAST India We believe that to be a global leader, India needs to be at the forefront of research: the creation of new science and technology knowledge and its translation to economic and social goods. This would ensure sustained economic growth that is not primarily and overly dependent on the service sector. We believe that this is the right time for India to revive its science and technology agenda.
The Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India) is a non-profit institution of excellence dedicated to building capacity and advancing policy solutions that foster scientific enquiry and research, and facilitate the creation, dissemination, and translation of new scientific knowledge. The foundation will work with a variety of stakeholders to develop and strengthen the science ecosystem in India in order to advance scientific research and its translation into economic value and social good.
FAST India will have five key verticals – policy and research, government support, institutional strengthening, corporate sector engagement, and science communication.
Popular science books play an important role in enhancing public understanding and appreciation of science by conveying complex scientific concepts in simpler, more engaging ways. We are keen to see more public science books in the limelight!
Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India) is pleased to launch the India Science Book Fellowship for scientists, science writers, communicators and for anyone interested in writing a popular science book in non-fiction!
The India Science Book Fellowship application form will be released on 24th April 2023.

Anyone based in India who is interested in writing a book based on science and technology can apply for the fellowship.
- Applicants can apply as an individual or as a team. However, the Lead applicant should be based in India and will be responsible for administering the fellowship to their collaborator.

- All interested applicants are required to go through the India Science Book Fellowship – Terms and Conditions.
- Selected Fellows understand and agree that they will enter into a formal contract with FAST India and/or its assigned parties detailing the terms and conditions for the India Science Book Fellowship.
- By applying for the India Science Book Fellowship (by FAST India), all Candidates agree to unconditionally comply with the Terms and Conditions set out herein.
- Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions shall lead to immediate disqualification of the Candidates.
